If even the marks are not fixated upon, what need to mention having marks on the body? Why is that? Kauśika, the venerable Subhūti practices all dharmas in solitude, practices in non-fixation, practices in emptiness, practices in signlessness, practices in wishlessness. Kauśika, whatever practice the venerable Subhūti has, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, and the practice of practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom is not even close to one in a hundred, not even close to one in a thousand, not even close to one in a hundred thousand, not even close to one in a koti, not even close to one in a hundred koti, not even close to one in a thousand koti, not even close to one in a hundred thousand koti, not even close to one in a hundred thousand koti pimbara, it cannot be tolerated in number, part, calculation, metaphor, and cause.

Apart from conduct, what is the conduct of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, and what is the conduct of the Hearers, and what is the conduct of the Solitary Buddhas? Among those conducts, the conduct of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, this is the most supreme. It is the best. It is the most excellent. It is the most sacred. It is the most abundant. It is the unsurpassed, the highest, the incomparable, the unequal and equal. Kauśika, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who wishes to become the most supreme of all beings should practice in this way, with this conduct of the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Kauśika, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices this Perfection of Wisdom transcends the level of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas and enters the faultless state of a Bodhisattva. Having entered the faultless state of a Bodhisattva, he will completely perfect the Dharmas of the Buddha. Having completely perfected the Dharmas of the Buddha, he will subsequently attain the wisdom of Omniscience. Having subsequently attained the wisdom of Omniscience, he will become a Tathāgata, an Arhat, a Perfectly Awakened Buddha, having abandoned all the afflictions that connect habitual tendencies. The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom, in twenty-four fascicles. Then, from within that assembly, the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms, holding many Mandārava flowers, scattered them upon the Bhagavan. They completely scattered them. They thoroughly scattered them. About six hundred monks also rose from their seats, draped their Dharma robes over one shoulder, knelt on their right knees, and, in the direction of the Bhagavan, bowed with folded hands, gazing at the Bhagavan without blinking and paying homage. When those monks bowed with folded hands, by the power of the Buddha, their palms became filled with Mandārava flowers, and those Mandārava flowers covered the Tathāgata.

Offerings were made to the Bhagavan Arhat Samyaksambuddha. Complete offerings were made. Thorough offerings were made. When such offerings, complete offerings, and thorough offerings were made, this statement was uttered: 'Bhagavan, with this root of virtue, through the supreme conduct that is not the sphere of activity of all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, may we conduct ourselves accordingly.' Having spoken thus, the Bhagavan understood the thoughts of those monks, and at that time, He smiled. Such is the nature of the Buddhas, the Bhagavans. When He smiled in this way, from the door of the Bhagavan's face came forth various kinds of light, such as blue light, yellow light, red light, white light, pale red, crystal, and silver-colored light. Those lights filled and pervaded the three-thousand great-thousand world system with illumination, and then gathered back, circumambulating the Bhagavan three times to the right, and disappeared into the crown of the Bhagavan's head. Then, the Venerable Ananda rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with palms joined, bowed down towards the Bhagavan, and said to the Bhagavan: 'Bhagavan, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas do not smile without a cause or condition. What is the cause, what is the condition for this smile?' Having spoken thus, the Bhagavan said to the Venerable Ananda: 'Ananda, these six hundred monks will, after as many kalpas as there are stars, fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and will appear in the world as Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas, named Scattered Flowers. Ananda, the Sangha of monks of those Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas, named Scattered Flowers, will be the same. The Buddha-fields will be the same. The measure of their lifespan will also be the same, that is, one thousand years. From where will they fully awaken?'
