Ah, the great Bodhisattva should thus abide in the Prajñāpāramitā. Kauśika, furthermore, the fruit of Stream-enterer is empty of the fruit of Stream-enterer. The fruit of Once-returner is empty of the fruit of Once-returner. The fruit of Non-returner is empty of the fruit of Non-returner. The state of Arhat is empty of the state of Arhat. Solitary enlightenment is empty of solitary enlightenment. Knowledge of the aspects of the path is empty of knowledge of the aspects of the path. Omniscience is empty of omniscience. Bodhisattva is empty of Bodhisattva. Kauśika, thus, the emptiness of the fruit of Stream-enterer, the emptiness of the fruit of Once-returner, the emptiness of the fruit of Non-returner, the emptiness of the state of Arhat, the emptiness of solitary enlightenment, the emptiness of knowledge of the aspects of the path, the emptiness of omniscience, the emptiness of Bodhisattva, in this there is neither duality nor separation. Kauśika, the Bodhisattva, the great being, should thus abide in the Prajñāpāramitā. The Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom, Twenty-first Chapter. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Subhūti: Venerable Subhūti, how should a Bodhisattva, a great being, not abide in the Prajñāpāramitā? Subhūti said: Kauśika, here, when a Bodhisattva, a great being, practices the Prajñāpāramitā, he should not abide in form by way of fixation. He should not abide in feeling by way of fixation. He should not abide in perception by way of fixation. He should not abide in formation by way of fixation. He should not abide in consciousness by way of fixation. He should not abide in the eye by way of fixation. He should not abide in the ear by way of fixation. He should not abide in the nose by way of fixation. He should not abide in the tongue by way of fixation.
