Enlightenment is not designated. Letters are not designated. Thinking thus, then the venerable Subhuti said this to those gods: Gods, it is so, it is so. The Tathagata's enlightenment is inexpressible, unspeakable. That is not shown by anyone, not heard by anyone, not known by anyone. Gods, therefore, if someone wants to abide in the fruit of stream-enterer, even if they want to realize the fruit of stream-enterer, it is not possible without relying on this patience. If someone wants to abide in the fruit of once-returner, even if they want to realize the fruit of once-returner, it is not possible without relying on this patience. If someone wants to abide in the fruit of non-returner, even if they want to realize the fruit of non-returner, it is not possible without relying on this patience. If someone wants to abide in Arhatship itself, even if they want to realize Arhatship itself, it is not possible without relying on this patience.
