Because it is without boundary and without abandonment, it is empty. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called emptiness of non-abandonment. What is emptiness of self-nature? Whether it is conditioned or unconditioned, whatever is the nature of all phenomena, that is not made by the Shravakas, not made by the Pratyekabuddhas, not made by the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, not made by the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddhas, because it is impermanent and indestructible, self-nature is empty by self-nature. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called emptiness of self-nature. What is the emptiness of all phenomena? What is called all phenomena is: form, feeling, perception, formation, consciousness, as well as eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, as well as form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma, as well as eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness, as well as eye contact, ear contact, nose contact, tongue contact, body contact, mind contact, as well as the feeling born from eye contact, the feeling born from ear contact, the feeling born from nose contact, the feeling born from tongue contact, the feeling born from body contact, the feeling born from mind contact, as well as phenomena with form, phenomena without form, conditioned phenomena, unconditioned phenomena, these are called all phenomena. Therefore, because it is impermanent and indestructible, all phenomena are empty by all phenomena. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called emptiness of all phenomena. What is emptiness of own-characteristic? What is the characteristic of conditioned phenomena, and what is the characteristic of unconditioned phenomena? By their respective characteristics, all those phenomena are empty. Why is that? Because their nature is such, this is called self-nature emptiness. So, what is unobtainable emptiness? For what is the past unobtainable, the future unobtainable, and the place where the present arises unobtainable, because it is impermanent and non-destructive. Unobtainable

Emptiness is without an object of focus. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called emptiness without an object of focus. So, what is the emptiness of the nature of non-things? Because all phenomena arise dependently, there is no nature of aggregation, because it is impermanent and indestructible. Aggregation is empty of aggregation. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Subhuti, furthermore, things are empty of things. Non-things are empty of non-things. Self-nature is empty of self-nature. Other things are empty of other things. So, what is meant by things as things? It is the five aggregates. Those aggregates are also empty of aggregates, thus things are empty of things. How are non-things empty of non-things? Non-things are called unconditioned, and that unconditioned is also empty of unconditioned, thus non-things are empty of non-things. How is self-nature empty of self-nature? Self-nature is called the undeluded nature, and there, whatever is emptiness, that is not made by consciousness, not made by seeing, this is the emptiness of self-nature. So, what is the emptiness of other things? Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, the regularity of the Dharma, as well as the Dharma-nature, as well as the Dharma-realm, as well as the faultless nature of the Dharma, as well as suchness, as well as the undeluded suchness, as well as the non-different suchness, and the true limit is abiding as such. Thus, whatever is empty of others in those Dharmas is called the emptiness of other things. Subhuti, this is the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. The Hundred Thousand Verses of the Prajnaparamita, Volume Twelve. Subhuti, furthermore, the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is like this: the Samadhi called Heroic Progress, the Samadhi called Precious Seal, and the Lion...
