If one begs when about to be fully ordained, what happens if one asks when about to be fully ordained? It is a misdeed. If one begs after being fully ordained, what happens if one asks after being fully ordained? It is a downfall. If one begs after being fully ordained, what happens if one asks when not fully ordained? It is a misdeed. Monk, if one begs for more than what is taught, what happens? It is a downfall. Monk, if a nun begs for more than what is taught, what happens? It is a downfall. If a novice monk, a novice nun, or a male novice begs for more than what is taught, what happens? It is a misdeed. In short, messages, letters, gestures, what others say, and from one to another, madness, mental disturbance, sickness, deafness, foolishness, sleep, intoxication, drunkenness, entering into absorption, and walking are the last. The venerable Upali asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: Monk, the Blessed One also said that if a monk says to a monk, 'Venerable one, you should train in this training,' and he says to them, 'I will not train in this training as instructed by the venerable ones,' what will happen?
