Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu commissions a hermaphrodite to weave cloth, what happens? He commits an offense. Likewise, food, a female hermaphrodite, and a person with two genders, all result in an offense. Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu commissions someone to weave a common cloth, what happens? He commits an offense. Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu commissions someone who is not a relative to weave a cloth, and that person changes gender and becomes a bhikkhuni and receives it, what happens? It is to be forfeited. Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu or bhikkhuni commissions someone who is not a relative to weave a cloth, and the gender changes, and after the gender changes, it is taken, what happens? It is to be forfeited. Bhikkhu, if a bhikkhu commissions someone who is not a relative to weave cloth, but it is not to be forfeited, is there such a case? Upali, there is. In any case, if the material of the cloth is permissible, but the yarn is not permissible, or the yarn is permissible, but the material is not permissible, or both are not permissible.
