He then addressed the Buddha Vipaśyin as follows: "Bhagavan, would you allow me and the community of Śrāvakas to bathe in the bathing pond in my garden?" The Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Vipaśyin, remained silent, indicating his consent. Realizing that the perfectly enlightened Buddha Vipaśyin had consented by remaining silent, he was overjoyed at the prospect. Rejoicing and delighting, he bowed to the feet of the Buddha with his head, rose from his seat, and went to where King Bandhuma was. Having arrived, he bowed to the feet of King Bandhuma with his head and said to King Bandhuma: "O King, I have invited the perfectly enlightened Buddha Vipaśyin, along with the community of Śrāvakas, to bathe in the bathing pond in my garden, and he has consented by remaining silent. Therefore, for the sake of that venerable deity, it is appropriate to adorn the city and the roads through which he will pass." King Bandhuma thought: "If that is so, if I adorn the city and the roads through which the Bhagavan will pass, perhaps I can also subdue those who are difficult for the Bhagavan to subdue." Thinking this, he said: "Brother, you have done well. Go and prepare the necessary items. I will adorn the city and the roads." He felt joy and great delight, bowed to the feet of King Bandhuma with his head, and then rose from his seat and departed. King Bandhuma instructed his ministers: "Wise ministers, proclaim in the city today that tomorrow the perfectly enlightened Buddha Vipaśyin will come to this city. Therefore, you who dwell in the city, and the multitude of people who have come from various lands, must adorn the city and the roads, and greet him with decorations befitting your wealth." The ministers, having heard the command of King Bandhuma, proclaimed: "O wise ones, inhabitants of the city, citizens, and the multitude of people who have come from various lands, listen! The deity has declared that the Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened one

The Tathagata Vairochana Buddha went to the city, therefore, you who live in the city, and all the people who have come from various places, decorate the city and decorate the roads, and everyone should welcome him with decorations that match their wealth. Thus the order was given. They removed the stones, tiles, and pebbles from the city. They sprinkled sandalwood water and placed incense burners with fragrant incense. Many silk ribbons were hung, and flags and banners were raised. Various flowers were laid out, making it like the pleasure garden of the gods, full of joy. The roads were also made even more beautiful than before, and warm water infused with various fragrances and butter were prepared there. The bathrooms were also cleaned, and seats were arranged to welcome the perfectly enlightened Tathagata Vairochana Buddha to the city. Then, the perfectly enlightened Tathagata Vairochana Buddha, accompanied by King Relatives, his consorts, youths, ministers, townspeople, and many other people, proceeded with great ceremony to the King's palace, the Relatives' residence. Then, the King's brother developed faith and invited the Buddha to enter the bathroom. Upon entering and beginning to bathe, he saw that the body of the Buddha Vairochana was like the color of gold, adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great being. Having seen this, he developed faith again, and after bathing, he prostrated at the Buddha's feet and made the aspiration: "By the root of virtue from making offerings to such a supreme object of veneration, may I also have a golden body like this great being. May he forcibly separate his younger brother, who is extremely attached to desires, and ordain him, liberating him from the ocean of samsara and placing him in the ultimate attainment and the bliss of nirvana. Just as I am the younger brother of this teacher, even if I am still extremely attached to desires, may the Bhagavan forcibly separate me, ordain me, and liberate me from the ocean of samsara."

Thus, he was placed in the ultimate attainment and the bliss of nirvana. Monks, what do you think? The brother of King Relatives was this son of good family, Delight. At that time, at that moment, he bathed the perfectly enlightened Buddha in the bathhouse, and whatever aspiration he made, the ripening of that karma made him the Tathagata's younger brother, and his body also became like the color of gold. I also diligently separated him, ordained him, liberated him from the solitude of samsara, and placed him in the ultimate attainment and the bliss of nirvana. Furthermore, the monks arose with doubts, and in order to dispel all doubts, they asked the Buddha, the Blessed One. "Venerable One, what karma did the venerable Delight perform, that the ripening of that karma caused him to manifestly possess the thirty-two major marks of a great being?" The Blessed One replied, "Monks, this is the karma that he himself performed and accumulated, gathered together, the conditions completely transformed, and he remained near as if crossing a deep abyss. Who else would experience the karma that he himself performed and accumulated? Monks, the karma that is performed and accumulated will not ripen in the external earth element, nor in the water element, nor in the fire element, nor in the wind element. However, the karma of good and non-virtue will only ripen in the aggregates, elements, and sense bases that are grasped. Even after hundreds of thousands of kalpas, karma will not be wasted. When it is gathered and the time is ripe, it will ripen into fruit for sentient beings. Monks, in the past, in a certain mountain cliff, there lived a wealthy householder, with much wealth and great enjoyment. He had a garden with various flowers, fruits, roots, abundant water, and adorned with various kinds of trees, suitable for the dwelling of renunciates. When Buddhas do not appear, solitary Buddhas will appear in the world, compassionate to the poor and afflicted, delighting in remote dwellings, the sole objects of offering in the world. Then, a solitary Buddha...
