For the sake of protection, taking flowers, incense, powder, clothes, and so on, they went to the place where the goddess was enshrined. The closer they got to the statue, the greener it became. Upon approaching it, the statue of the goddess became as if made of iron. The Brahmin boys wondered, 'What is this miracle that has occurred? Whose power is this?' As they pondered, they suddenly realized that this phenomenon was caused by this girl. So they asked the girl, 'Whose daughter are you?' She replied, 'I am Zangmo, the daughter of Serkya, a Brahmin.' After hearing this from the girl, the Brahmin boys went to the house of the Brahmin Serkya. Reaching his doorstep, they stood by the door and said, 'O knowledgeable one, please give alms!' Hearing the word 'alms,' the Brahmin Serkya thought that these Brahmin boys had come to beg. So he instructed his family, 'Give these Brahmin boys some powder that resembles the color of the Maluta tree's flowers, ghee, brown sugar, dried dates, Nepali apples, and tamarind.' In the central region, it is customary for daughters to give alms from their father's house. Why is that? Because giving alms from the father's house is equivalent to obtaining the essence. Afterward, Serkya's daughter, Zangmo, took the alms and went to the place where the Brahmin beggar boys were. She gave the alms, but the Brahmin boys did not accept them. After some time, the Brahmin Serkya heard about this. Then the Brahmin Serkya said to those Brahmin boys, 'What do you want?' They replied, 'We need the alms of the daughter, not the alms of powder.' Then, the Brahmin Serkya became angry and said to those Brahmin boys, 'I will not give you the alms of my daughter.' They replied, 'We are not seeking the alms of the daughter for our own benefit.' Then, the Brahmin Serkya said to those Brahmin boys, 'Brahmin boys, I...'

I didn't understand that meaning. Then, those Brahmin boys said to the Brahmin Golden Yellow, "Knowledgeable one! In the country of Magadha, in the city called Forest Banyan, there lives a Brahmin like a great Sala tree, named Banyan, who is rich, has much wealth, enjoys much, is completely possessed widely and extensively, possesses the wealth of the son of Vaishravana, rivaling the wealth of the son of Vaishravana. He has sixteen slave villages, thirty artisan villages, sixty interest-bearing villages, nine hundred and ninety-nine plows, sixty billion gold, and eighty gold rice grains used to obtain King Padma. Have you heard that he has a son named Banyan, who is handsome, pleasing to the eye, beautiful, proficient in the six occupations of Brahmins, proficient in the Vedas and the branches of the Vedas, and very intelligent in all eighteen fields of knowledge? We are asking for a daughter for him." Then, the Golden Yellow Brahmin said to those Brahmin boys, "I have heard extensively about the virtues of the Brahmin who is like a great Sala tree, what his caste, discipline, cleanliness, and conduct are like. However, he lives in a distant place, how can we marry him? Those ones, knowledgeable ones! What is fire, what is wind? Poison that meets with blood, the Brahmin is determined, what horse is unstoppable? Haven't you heard before? That Brahmin is also very rich, and you are also rich and have much wealth like him, possessing those vehicles and people who can go back and forth. Furthermore, marrying someone who lives far away is not stable." When those Brahmin boys made the Golden Yellow Brahmin understand with words that pleased his heart, then he gave the bathing utensils, such as: bathing cloth, toothbrush, flour, oil, and toothpicks, etc. Then, those Brahmin boys took those bathing utensils,

Outside the city of Kapilavastu, a pond was dug for bathing at a high place. Then the Brahmin Serkya thought: 'As long as the Brahmin boys go to the pond for bathing, I will also consult with my friends, relatives, and family members.' Thinking this, the Brahmin Serkya entered his house, sat with his wife and relatives, and told them about this matter. They said: 'That Brahmin is like a great Sala tree. Even if he is unwilling, we should try our best to give him our daughter. Since he himself desires it, what need is there to say more? We should give her without hesitation. To have a marriage with him is a good match, and our daughter will also be happy.' Later, the parents bathed their daughter, dressed her in white clothes, performed auspicious rites, and the Brahmins recited auspicious verses, giving her in marriage to the Brahmin boy Nyagrodha. After that, the Brahmin boys calculated the months, sun, stars, and moments for the girl's parents, saying: 'In such and such a month, sun, star, and moment, she will be close to the boy.' Then, the Brahmin boys, having fulfilled their wishes, were delighted and joyful, and very happy, they set out for the city of Nyagrodhaka, and finally arrived at the city of Nyagrodhaka. The Brahmin boy Nyagrodha saw them from afar. Having seen them, he thought: 'These Brahmin boys have come so happily and joyfully, surely they have found me as I imagined.' Then, those Brahmin boys went to the Brahmin Nyagrodhaka, who was like a great Sala tree, and after paying homage to the Brahmin Nyagrodha, they sat down. He also made each of those Brahmin boys happy. After making them happy individually, he said to those Brahmin boys: 'Hey!'
