Bowing with my head to the two feet of the Bhagavan, I inquire of the Bhagavan: Are you free from illness and affliction? Are you comfortable and at ease? Are you light in movement? Are you nourished? Do you abide in strength and well-being? Are you without fault? This is how the messenger of King Prasenajit of Kosala came to inquire about the health of the Blessed One. O monks, even when these noble ones remain in the army for a very long time, the formations become confused, and they become weary of looking at the top of the banners, the top of the armies, and the armies arrayed for battle. Alas, for the sake of compassion, Bhagavan, it would be good if you would devise some means by which these noble ones, even when they remain in the army for a very long time, would not have their formations confused, and would not become weary of looking at the top of the banners, the top of the armies, and the armies arrayed for battle, but would be able to remember. Please report this. That person, having heard the words of King Prasenajit of Kosala, said: As the divine command. Then he went to where the Bhagavan was, and having arrived, he bowed with his head to the two feet of the Bhagavan, and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, that person said this to the Bhagavan: O monks, King Prasenajit of Kosala bows with his head to the two feet of the Bhagavan, and inquires of the Bhagavan: Are you free from illness and affliction? Are you comfortable and at ease? Are you light in movement? Are you nourished? Do you abide in strength and well-being? Are you without fault? This is how he inquires about your health. May King Prasenajit of Kosala and you be well. O monks, the messenger of King Prasenajit of Kosala said that even when these noble ones remain in the army for a very long time, the formations become confused, and they become weary of looking at the top of the banners, the top of the armies, and the armies arrayed for battle.
