ས་པར་གསུངས་པ་ཡིན་ནོ། །ཁྱིམ་བདག་གོས་སྦྱིན་པ་ཡང་ཅུང་ཟད་ཡོད་དམ། འཕགས་པ་བདག་ནི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་སྲབ་པ་ལ་གས་ཏེ་འོན་ཀྱང་རས་ཟུང་གཅིག་འབུལ་ལོ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་རས་ཟུང་དེ་ཅི་འདྲ་བལྟའོ། །དེས་བསྟན་པ་དང་ཅི་ཙམ་ན་བཟང་བར་མཐོང་ནས་ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་བཏང་བ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་ནི་ཡོད་ན་ཡོངས་སུ་ལོངས་སྤྱད་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་ནི་ལན་འགའ་ཡང་མེད་དོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་སྟོང་ཉིས་བརྒྱ་ལྔ་བཅུ་ལ་རས་ཟུང་སྟོང་ཉིས་བརྒྱ་ལྔ་བཅུས་འགྲུབ་པས་འདིས་ནི་རེ་ཞིག་ཆོས་གོས་ཀྱི་གདང་ཁོ་ན་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་ཟད་པར་བྱ་དགོས་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་ཟས་ཀྱི་རྙེད་པ་བྱུང་ན་ནི་པུ་ལསའི་འདབ་མས་ཀྱང་བགོ་བར་བྱ་ལ། གོས་ཀྱི་རྙེད་པ་བྱུང་ན་ནི་མར་མེའི་སྙིང་པོར་རུང་བས་ཀྱང་བགོ་བར་བྱའོ་ཞེས་གསུངས་ན། གལ་ཏེ་འགེད་པར་མི་བྱེད་ན་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་འདི་ཡང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་གང་གིས་བདག་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་བཏང་བ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ ནམས་ཀྱང་མཆིས་ལ། ཡོངས་སུ་ལོངས་སྤྱད་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱང་མཆིས་པར་འགྱུར་པའི་ཐབས་ཅི་མཆིས། ཁྱིམ་བདག་གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཤཱཀྱའི་རིགས་ལས་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་པ། སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་དང་ལྡན་པ། ཆོས་སྒྲོག་པ། རིགས་པ་དང་གྲོལ་བའི་སྤོབས་པ་ཅན་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེ་ལ་རས་ཟུང་འདི་བསྐོན་ན་དེ་ལྟན་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་བཏང་བ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་དང་། ཡོངས་སུ་ལོངས་སྤྱད་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་སུ་ཡང་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེས་སྨྲས་པ། འཕགས་པ་ཤཱཀྱའི་རིགས་ལས་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བ། སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་དང་ལྡན་པ། ཆོས་སྒྲོག་པ། རིགས་པ་དང་གྲོལ་བའི་སྤོབས་པ་ཅན་སུ་མཆིས། ཁྱིམ་བདག་ཁོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཤཱཀྱའི་རིགས་ལས་རབ་བྱུང་པ། སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་དང་ལྡན་པ། ཆོས་སྒྲོག་པ། རིགས་པ་དང་གྲོལ་བའི་སྤོབས་པ་ཅན་ཡིན་ནོ། །ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེས་ཉེ་དགའ་ལ་འཕགས་པ་ཁྱོད་རས་ཟུང་འདི་བཞེས་ཤིག་ཅེས་སྦྱིན་བར་བརྩམས་པ་དང་། ཉེ་དགས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་ཁྱོད་སྦྱིན་པ་སྦྱིན་ཡང་མི་ཤེས་སམ། གང་གི་ཚེ་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་མཆོད་སྟོན་གསོལ་བ་དེའི་ཚེ་ན་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་རྒན་པའི་མཐའ་ལོགས་སུ་རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རང་བ་བྱེད་དུ་ཆུག་ལ་ཁོ་བོ་ལ་བྱིན་ཅིག །འཕགས་པ་དེ་བཞིན་བགྱིའོ་ཞེས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེས་དེ་ལས་མཉན་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེས་དེའི་འོག་ཏུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་མཆོད་སྟོ

如是宣说。居士，还有布施衣服吗？圣者，我拥有的受用很少，但是可以供养一双布。居士，那双布怎么样，让我看看。他展示了，觉得怎么样好呢，近喜说道：居士，你由完全布施而产生的福德是有，由完全受用而产生的福德一次也没有。世尊的眷属一千二百五十人，需要一千二百五十双布才能满足，这样一来，恐怕只能用在法衣的边上了。世尊也说过，如果得到食物，即使是贝拉斯的叶子也可以分；如果得到衣服，即使是灯芯也可以分。如果不分，你的这个也不会被受用。他说：圣者，有什么方法能让我既有完全布施产生的福德，也有完全受用产生的福德呢？居士，如果你把这双布供养给从释迦族出家，具有三藏，说法，具有理性和解脱的自信的人，那样你就会既有完全布施产生的福德，也有完全受用产生的福德。他说：圣者，谁是从释迦族出家，具有三藏，说法，具有理性和解脱的自信的人呢？居士，我就是从释迦族出家，具有三藏，说法，具有理性和解脱的自信的人。居士，于是那个居士开始向近喜布施，说：圣者，您接受这双布吧。近喜说道：居士，你布施却不懂得布施吗？当供养、宴请佛陀等比丘僧团的时候，你应该让我在长者的旁边随喜，然后给我。圣者，我会那样做的。居士从他那里听了之后，那个居士在那之后供养、宴请佛陀等比丘僧团。

Thus it was said. Householder, is there also a little offering of clothing? Holy one, I have little to enjoy, but I will offer a pair of cloths. Householder, let me see what those cloths are like. After he showed them and thought about what would be good, Nears Delight said: Householder, the merit that comes from your complete giving is there, but the merit that comes from complete enjoyment is never there. The Blessed One's retinue of one thousand two hundred and fifty needs one thousand two hundred and fifty pairs of cloths to be satisfied, so for now, it will probably only be used for the edges of the Dharma robes. The Blessed One also said that if food is obtained, even the leaves of the Belasa can be divided; if clothing is obtained, even the wick of a lamp can be divided. If you do not divide it, this of yours will not be enjoyed either. He said: Holy one, what is the way that I can have both the merit of complete giving and the merit of complete enjoyment? Householder, if you offer this pair of cloths to someone who has renounced from the Shakya clan, possesses the three baskets, preaches the Dharma, and has confidence in reason and liberation, then you will have both the merit of complete giving and the merit of complete enjoyment. He said: Holy one, who is it that has renounced from the Shakya clan, possesses the three baskets, preaches the Dharma, and has confidence in reason and liberation? Householder, I myself have renounced from the Shakya clan, possess the three baskets, preach the Dharma, and have confidence in reason and liberation. Householder, then that householder began to give to Nears Delight, saying: Holy one, please accept this pair of cloths. Nears Delight said: Householder, do you give but not know how to give? When you offer and feast the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, you should let me rejoice next to the elders, and then give to me. Holy one, I will do so. After the householder heard that from him, that householder then offered and feasted the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha.

After the request, please allow that piece of cloth to be rejoiced around the elder. Later, allow rejoicing, and after allowing rejoicing in this way, it was given to Nye-ga. The monks said to the disciplinarian: Take back that piece of cloth from Nye-ga. The disciplinarian said to Nye-ga: Return that piece of cloth. Is it to be taken to the temple and given as alms? The disciplinarian said: No, this is offered to the Sangha. Nye-ga said: Why don't you offer your own bowl and Dharma robes to the Sangha? This was clearly given to me. After that, the Blessed One gave a discourse on merit, rose from his seat, and departed, and that beggar was ashamed and sat there. Then, that beggar saw that the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, had left not long ago, and said these words to that householder: Householder, you are thundering elsewhere and raining elsewhere! What should I do? The venerable Nye-ga said, Householder, if the merit you obtained from giving has 0, then the merit you obtained from enjoying is not even once. The Blessed One's retinue has one thousand two hundred and fifty people, and it takes one thousand two hundred and fifty pieces of cloth to satisfy them, so this can only be used temporarily on the Dharma robe rack. The Blessed One also said that if food is obtained, even the leaves of the Pulasa should be distributed; if clothes are obtained, even the wick of the lamp should be distributed. If you don't distribute it, then you won't be able to enjoy this either. After I said this, I said to him: Venerable, how can I have both the merit of giving and the merit of enjoying? The venerable Nye-ga said, Householder, if you offer this piece of cloth to someone who has renounced from the Shakya clan, who possesses the three baskets, preaches the Dharma, and has the fearlessness of reason and liberation, then you will have both the merit of giving and the merit of enjoying.
