所謂以婦女之語者，是婦女所常用之心思之語，向男子陳述之故。所謂妻室或友伴者，即七妻與十友伴也。何謂七妻？即以水時所授者，以財物所購者，以強奪所得者，以和合而聚者，以衣食所求者，以口所許者，以及偶爾相遇者，此為第七種。其中何謂以水時所授之妻？凡婦女或少女，父母以水時授與男子，曰：『此為汝之妻，為生育之主母。』既以水時授之，彼即成其妻，為生育之主母，彼守護之，不使他人為欲而用之，甚為守護，甚為隱藏，此即名為以水時所授之妻。何謂以財物所購之妻？凡婦女或少女，男子曰：『此等為妻，為生育之主母。』遂從父母處以財物購之，彼即成其妻，為生育之主母，彼守護之，不使他人為欲而用之，甚為守護，甚為隱藏，此即名為以財物所購之妻。何謂以強奪所得之妻？譬如國王，以王族之身，受灌頂加冕，整頓四部軍隊，前往他國之境，攻下未臣服者，安撫已臣服者，於宣告得勝之時，彼時男子以國王為旗幟，奪取婦女或少女，曰：『此為我之妻，為生育之主母。』遂強奪之，彼即成其妻，為生育之主母，彼守護之，不使他人為欲而用之，甚為守護，甚為隱藏，此即名為以強奪所得之妻。又何謂以強奪所得之妻？譬如盜賊等，摧毀村莊，或摧毀城市，或摧毀地域，以己之首領為旗幟，奪取婦女或少女，曰：『此為我之妻，

The term "by the words of a woman" means that whatever thoughts and words are commonly used by women are spoken to a man. The term "wife or friend" refers to seven wives and ten friends. What are the seven wives? They are: the one given by water clock, the one bought with valuables, the one obtained by force, the one gathered in harmony, the one sought with clothes and food, the one promised by mouth, and the one occasionally encountered, which is the seventh. Among them, what is the wife given by water clock? Any woman or young girl whose parents give to a man, saying, "This is your wife, be the mistress of procreation," and having given her by water clock, she becomes his wife, the mistress of procreation, and he protects her, not allowing others to use her for desire, guarding her very carefully, hiding her very secretly, this is called the wife given by water clock. What is the wife bought with valuables? Any woman or young girl whom a man says, "These are my wives, to be the mistresses of procreation," and having bought her from her parents with valuables, she becomes his wife, the mistress of procreation, and he protects her, not allowing others to use her for desire, guarding her very carefully, hiding her very secretly, this is called the wife bought with valuables. What is the wife obtained by force? For example, a king, crowned as a royal lineage, equipping the four divisions of the army, goes to the territory of another country, subduing those who have not submitted, pacifying those who have submitted, and at the time of proclaiming victory, then a man, with the king as his banner, seizes a woman or young girl, saying, "This is my wife, to be the mistress of procreation," and having seized her, she becomes his wife, the mistress of procreation, and he protects her, not allowing others to use her for desire, guarding her very carefully, hiding her very secretly, this is called the wife obtained by force.
