世尊说：除了如来之外，世间所有的智慧，舍利子的智慧的十六分之一也不及。如果包括天神在内的这个世界，与舍利子相等，那么如来的智慧的十六分之一也不及。如是说，因此，也请在这里寻找（佛）的足迹并顶礼。这是具寿大目犍连的寺庙，是前导之子，舍弃无顶饰的王位而出家者。他曾以右脚拇指三次摇动帝释天的胜幢宫殿，完全摇动，完全彻底摇动。以他的神通，世尊在光芒世界中日夜行走七日。世尊曾将他示现为神通广大者和具大威力者中的第一。如是说，因此，也请在这里寻找（佛）的足迹并顶礼。这是具寿摩诃迦叶的寺庙，是贤劫中出家者。世尊之父的兄弟之子，凡是正确宣扬他的名字，商人就能从大海中乘坐制作精良的船只归来。世尊曾将他示现为天眼者中的第一。如是说，因此，也请在这里寻找（佛）的足迹并顶礼。这是具寿阿难陀的寺庙，他长期受到世尊的恭敬侍奉，在世尊的近侍中行事，受到导师的赞扬，行为与梵天相似，受到智者们的尊敬。他是世尊之父的兄弟之子中出家者，世尊曾将他示现为多闻者、持闻者和积闻者中的第一。如是说，因此，也请在这里寻找（佛）的足迹并顶礼。这是具寿难陀的寺庙，他是世尊的弟弟之子中出家者。如果他不曾出家，将会成为以力量统治世界的转轮王。世尊曾将他示现为守护诸根门者中的第一。

The Blessed One said: "Apart from the Tathagata, all the wisdom of the world does not equal even one-sixteenth of Shariputra's wisdom. If this world, including the gods, were equal to Shariputra, it would still not equal one-sixteenth of the Tathagata's wisdom." As it is said, therefore, please seek the footprints (of the Buddha) and pay homage here as well. This is the monastery of the venerable Maha Maudgalyayana, the son of the leader, who renounced the crownless kingdom and went forth. He who shook the palace of Indra, the king of the gods, called "Victorious Banner," three times with the thumb of his right foot, shook it completely, shook it utterly. By his miraculous power, the Blessed One walked for seven days and nights in the radiant realm of the world. The Blessed One showed him as the foremost among those with great miraculous powers and great strength. As it is said, therefore, please seek the footprints (of the Buddha) and pay homage here as well. This is the monastery of the venerable Mahakashyapa, who went forth from the Bhadrakalpa. The son of the Blessed One's paternal uncle, by correctly proclaiming his name, merchants will return from the great ocean in well-made vessels. The Blessed One showed him as the foremost among those with divine eyes. As it is said, therefore, please seek the footprints (of the Buddha) and pay homage here as well. This is the monastery of the venerable Ananda, who was revered and served by the Blessed One for a long time, who attended upon the Blessed One, who was praised by the Teacher, who behaved like Brahma, and who was respected by the wise. He was the son of the Blessed One's paternal uncle who went forth. The Blessed One showed him as the foremost among those who have heard much, who retain what they have heard, and who accumulate what they have heard. As it is said, therefore, please seek the footprints (of the Buddha) and pay homage here as well. This is the monastery of the venerable Nanda, who went forth from the son of the Blessed One's younger brother. If he had not gone forth, he would have become a Chakravartin king ruling the world by force. The Blessed One showed him as the foremost among those who guard the doors of the senses.

In the name of whatever teaching is shown, please seek the footprints here again. This is the monastery of the venerable Rāhula. The Blessed One caused his son to renounce. If he had not renounced, he would have become a powerful king. If he had renounced, he would have been honored by many kings, passing from one generation to another, completely cut off. In the name of whatever teaching the Blessed One showed to those who desire to learn, those who respect learning, and those who have obtained the means for learning, please seek the footprints here again. This is the monastery of the venerable Ānanda. This is of Nanda. This is of Desire. This is of Swift-goer. This is of Nabso. This is my monastery. Should this also be seen? Noble one, after we have seen all the monasteries, shouldn't we first see the monastery of the noble Upāli? We now very much want to see the monastery of the noble Upāli. Sisters, so be it. The venerable Upāli is of improper conduct, therefore in his monastery, the ground is smeared with Mons bean flour, the walls are decorated with beautiful wood carvings, mattresses made of calfskin are laid out, jars filled with drinking water are placed together with utensils, and the inside of the jars is filled with various foods. The venerable Upāli said to the many Brahmins and the wives of householders who came to his monastery: Sisters, what do you want to do? Do you want to make love or drink? Noble one, does the river flow backwards? Is it that which we should ask of the Noble One that the Noble One asks of us? Please grant us what we lack. Sisters, what do you lack? Noble one, it is hearing the Dharma. Sisters, the Blessed One said that these six things appearing in the world are rare and wonderful. What are these six things? The Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One, and the Dharma and Vinaya spoken by the Tathāgata, the status of a human being, being born in the central region, having complete senses, without defects, and
