Second, explaining the Sanghavasesa concerning physical contact. Second, explaining the Sanghavasesa concerning physical contact. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Anathapindika's monastery in Jeta's Grove in Sravasti. The conduct of the group of six was that they thought, "Here, we should teach the Dharma to the Brahmins and householders who come and arrive. We should also subdue the adversaries. We should also proclaim our own fame." None of the group of six would leave the gate of Jeta's Grove empty. The venerable Udayin would rise early in the morning, chew his toothpick, put on his reddish-yellow robes, and wander around and sit at the gate of Jeta's Grove. The conduct of the Brahmins and householders' wives residing in Sravasti was that they would go to the garden, enter Jeta's Grove, view the monastery, and go to pay homage to the Bhagavan and the elder monks. Many of the Brahmins and householders' wives would come to the garden, wanting to view the monastery, and would go to where Jeta's Grove was. The group of six knew, saw, heard, understood, and were familiar with all the people residing in the six great cities, whether by lineage, clan, family, name, appearance, craft, or livelihood. The venerable Udayin saw those many Brahmin and householder wives from afar, and having seen them, he said, "Mother of so-and-so, wife of so-and-so, daughter-in-law of so-and-so, daughter of so-and-so, sister of so-and-so, welcome! Welcome! Why do you wander around for so long like the moon?" They said, "Venerable Udayin, the Bhagavan has well said that the eight unfree times are not the time for a person to practice celibacy. We are the ninth unfree time, because we have the bustle of family." Udayin said, "Sisters, some of you say this: The poisoner and other kings, When deeds are not done, Those and all deeds, Are destroyed."

It will become like that. Those things themselves, before they are completely finished, the enemy of the world, the lord of death, will come. Haven't you heard it said like that? They said: Venerable, for that reason, we came to the garden, entered the victorious grove, viewed the temple, and to pay homage to the Blessed One and the elder monks. Charka said: Sisters, if you have come for that, then the Blessed One has also said that one should take the essence from the meaningless body, well said, well said. Sisters, one should ask how the fetus views such a sight. Sisters, where are you going to enter? Venerable Charka, we are entering the Joyful Garden and viewing the temple. Sisters, the Blessed One said: Whichever wise person, if with great faith, walks in front of the Buddha's stupa, then the measure of Jambudvipa gold, even if it is hundreds of thousands, is equal to that. Well said. Sisters, have you sought any monk who can show you the temple? Noble one, are we to hold lamps and search while walking? Venerable Charka, abandoning you, are we to seek another monk? Who is more excellent than you? Please show us. Then, the venerable Charka thought: If I show them the temple, then my virtuous side will also completely decline. If I do not show them, even the alms food will not be given. Moreover, the Blessed One has also said that one should cause the unbelieving to generate complete faith, to tame, to guide, to settle, and to make them rejoice. Therefore, one must definitely connect them with virtuous deeds. Thinking that one must show them in every way, he took flowers and incense and other various offerings, took the bowl in his hand, and began to show them in order: Sisters, this is the Blessed One's pure room, where the Blessed One three times a day
