做了什么？如果外道们说十二年中会发生旱灾，那么圣者大目犍连之子预言说，七天过后，天神会降雨。我们把家里和仓库里的所有谷物都拿出去扔掉，但天神却没有降雨。六群比丘们说：贤者们，外道们的行为是，即使有云，云中也有雷声，也有闪电，四面八方也刮来凉风，天神稍微缓慢地降下一点点雨的时候，他们和世人也会说，天神不费力气地降雨了。如果大雨倾盆，土地滋润，那还用说什么呢？这样，圣者大目犍连之子预言说所有的庄稼都会成熟吗？他们变得没有勇气，一言不发地坐着。六群比丘们说：喜悦者和近喜悦者已经知道了，但是因为小事而犯了错误，过来，我们去他那里让他忏悔。他们做好食物，行礼后，去了有具寿大目犍连之子的地方，对具寿大目犍连之子说了这些话：尊者，顶礼！具寿们，阿罗伽。尊者，请开示机会。具寿们，请为五种堕罪开示机会。如果外道们说十二年中会发生旱灾，你却预言会下雨。如果僧衣的边缘被污垢弄脏了，那就用不干净的东西擦拭吧。你不用黑钵乞食为生，所以要通晓一切，进行辩论，但那也是没有结果的。你烧毁了田地，我们也找不到食物。你所犯的错误，请如法忏悔。具寿们，没有看到堕罪。六群比丘们说：具寿们，世尊说，因为没有看到堕罪，所以要进行驱摈之业。因此，为什么还要留着这个人呢？

What was done? If the non-Buddhists predicted that there would be a drought for twelve years, then the great son of the noble Maudgalyayana prophesied that after seven days, the gods would send down rain. We took all the grains that were in our homes and warehouses and threw them outside, but the gods did not send down rain. The group of six monks said: Wise ones, the practice of the non-Buddhists is that even if there are clouds, there is thunder in the clouds, there is lightning, and cool winds blow from all four directions, when the gods slowly send down a little rain, they and the world will say that the gods are sending down rain without effort. If heavy rain falls and the land is moistened, what more needs to be said? In this way, did the great son of the noble Maudgalyayana prophesy that all the crops would ripen? They became discouraged and sat silently without saying a word. The group of six monks said: The joyful one and the near joyful one have already understood, but because of a small matter, he has made a mistake. Come, let us go to him and make him confess. They prepared food, paid homage, and went to the place where the venerable great son of Maudgalyayana was, and said these words to the venerable great son of Maudgalyayana: Venerable one, I prostrate! Venerable ones, Aroggya. Venerable one, please open the opportunity. Venerable ones, please open the opportunity for the five kinds of transgressions. If the non-Buddhists say that there will be a drought for twelve years, you prophesied that it would rain. If the edge of the monastic robe is soiled by dirt, then wipe it with something unclean. You do not live by begging with a black bowl, so you should be knowledgeable in everything and engage in debate, but that is also fruitless. You have burned the fields, and we cannot find food either. Please confess the mistakes you have made according to the Dharma. Venerable ones, I have not seen the transgression. The group of six monks said: Venerable ones, the Blessed One said that because he has not seen the transgression, the act of expulsion should be performed. Therefore, why should this person be kept?

平均分配。谁是管事？是某某吗？叫来。叫来了。诸位具寿敲犍椎。大目犍连之子犯了小罪，不如法忏悔，因为没看到他犯戒，所以要执行驱出僧团的羯磨。管事去僧团长老那里，六群比丘也一起去了。那时，具寿舍利子担任僧团长老，他经常敲犍椎时，就问：哪位具寿安住？从根本上安住？应该欢喜？从根本上应该欢喜？驱逐？这是依法进行呵责。六群比丘说：长老谁也不安住，从根本上不安住，不应该欢喜，从根本上不应该欢喜，不驱逐。像这样，具寿大目犍连之子因猥亵而犯戒，正在破坏世尊的教法。不用黑钵乞食，因此，他自称是人中之法最上，通晓一切，但却没有结果，他烧毁了村落，我们连乞食都得不到。因为他犯了罪却不如法忏悔，为了不让他看到罪过，所以要执行驱出僧团的羯磨。诸位具寿，不要阻止长老比丘，因为这位佛陀世尊是全知者，全见者，对于知识和所知具有无上的力量，能够断除一切疑惑。今天就在他面前禀告此事。世尊如何给你开示，就如实接受。当时，比丘们向世尊禀告，世尊开示说：比丘们，这些人虽然说占星家预言天会下雨，但不要相信，这是大旱的五个原因和五个条件。哪五个呢？就像这样，有云也有闪电，云中也有雷声，四面八方也刮着凉风，占星家也说天会下雨，但是，哦！

Distribute evenly. Who is in charge? Is it so-and-so? Call them. They have been called. Venerable ones, strike the ghaṇṭā. The great Maudgalyāyana's son has committed a minor offense and does not confess it according to the Dharma. Because he has not seen the offense, the act of expulsion from the Saṃgha should be performed. The steward went to the Saṃgha's elder, and the group of six went with him. At that time, the venerable Śāriputra was the elder of the Saṃgha. When he always struck the ghaṇṭā, he would ask: Which venerable one is dwelling? Fundamentally dwelling? Should be pleased? Fundamentally should be pleased? Expel? This is to rebuke according to the Dharma. The group of six said: No elder is dwelling, fundamentally dwelling, should be pleased, fundamentally should be pleased, or expel. Like this, the venerable great Maudgalyāyana's son is destroying the Blessed One's teachings by committing an offense through indecency. He does not live by begging with a black bowl. Therefore, he claims to be the supreme Dharma among humans and knows everything, but there is no result. He burns the villages, and we cannot even get alms. Because he has committed an offense but does not confess it according to the Dharma, in order to prevent him from seeing the offense, the act of expulsion from the Saṃgha should be performed. Venerable ones, do not prevent the elder bhikṣu, because this Buddha, the Blessed One, is all-knowing, all-seeing, possesses unsurpassed power over knowledge and knowable things, and is able to cut off all doubts. Report this matter to him today. Accept exactly as the Blessed One instructs you. At that time, the bhikṣus reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: Bhikṣus, even though these people say that astrologers predict that the gods will cause rain, do not believe it. These are the five causes and five conditions for a great drought. What are the five? Like this, there are clouds and lightning, thunder in the clouds, and cool winds blowing from all directions. The astrologers also say that the gods will cause rain, but, oh!
