Even if we do that, we two will kill him. Needless to say, we two killed our uncle. What did the sharp-mouthed one instruct you two? Do as the uncle says. If that's the case, the two nephews said this: I am oppressed by the feeling of suffering, kill me! The two of them must have discussed this with their uncle beforehand. Therefore, they thought that the uncle had sent them here. One of the two was very fierce, and with a sharp knife, he cut off his head, covered it with a cloth, and sat there. The sharp-mouthed one also returned from the place of use, and seeing that he was covered with a cloth, he said: Two nephews, you two are sitting, is this person sleeping again? Uncle will never get up like this, he is sleeping like this. The sharp-mouthed one thought, these two are saying unprecedented words, I should ask. He asked the two of them, and the two of them told the sharp-mouthed one in detail about the situation at that time. The sharp-mouthed one felt unhappy. Then he lifted the cloth and saw that person, and thought, haven't I become the one holding the conch shell? He also felt regret. Because of being separated from his friend, his heart tormented by regret felt unhappy. He told the monks in detail about the situation at that time. The monks prayed to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan taught: Monks, that monk has not fallen. Also, a monk should not leave a sick person's unskilled nurse and leave. If there is a situation where you have to leave, you must tell the unskilled nurse, if this person is going to offer fire, or eat poison, or draw a knife, or jump off a cliff, or tie himself with a rope, or eat other unsuitable things, you must stop him, and then you can leave. If a monk leaves without telling the unskilled nurse, he will commit a serious crime. This also happened, but for the time being, the Buddha Bhagavan will not establish the basis of the precepts for the Shravakas for the purpose of taming. The Buddha Bhagavan was staying in Shravasti, in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. There was a monk living in Shravasti.

When a bowl became rusty, the monks said to him: Venerable, your bowl is rusty, why don't you burn it? He said: This requires a potter, a blacksmith, a joining of Tigi, and many other utensils. The monks said: Venerable, what? Can one achieve without a bowl? He said: I cannot achieve without a bowl, for example, in a certain large house, there is a monk who is sick and suffering, severely ill, and will soon pass away, one should take his bright, round, enjoyable bowl. The monks said: Venerable, for the sake of a bowl, can you generate such a strong mind of hatred like a butcher? That monk became ashamed and sat silently. At that time, the monks requested the Blessed One, and the Blessed One taught: Monks, that monk has not fallen, but a monk should not generate such a strong mind of hatred like a butcher for the sake of a bowl. If a monk generates such a strong mind of hatred like a butcher for the sake of a bowl, he will commit a serious offense. Furthermore, a monk should cherish the bowl like his eyes, repair what should be repaired, and burn what should be burned. If a monk does not repair a bowl that should be repaired, or does not burn what should be burned, he will commit a serious offense. This also happened, but for the time being, the Buddha, the Blessed One, will not establish the basis of learning for the disciples in the Vinaya. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. In Shravasti, there was a monk whose robe was old and stained with dirt, and the monks said to him: Venerable, your robe is old and stained with dirt, why don't you wash it, mend it, or replace it? He said: This requires copper, water, wood, and thread.

Dyes and other utensils are also needed in abundance. The monks said, 'Venerable one, what? Can it be accomplished without a sanghati?' He said, 'I cannot accomplish it without a sanghati. For example, in a certain large house, a monk is sick and suffering, his illness is severe, and he will soon pass away. At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed, 'Monks, that monk has not committed an offense. If a monk generates such a strong mind of anger, like a Chandala, for the sake of a sanghati, he commits a grave offense.
