Saying that they should be cut off by eating everything, those people cut off their ears, hung a stake around their necks, and let them go. The bull-kings who were wandering around saw them, and said to them in verse: You sang well, sang the best song, You have obtained the fruit of song, Your song has made my ears disappear. Whoever does not keep his word, Such things will happen to him, Ears mutilated, adorned with stakes, Now it depends on wandering. He also replied in verse: Toothless one, shut your mouth! Old bull, be quiet! The three men holding sticks in their hands, Are also looking for you. The Blessed One said: Monks, what do you think? The bull-king at that time was myself. The donkey at that time was this Devadatta, Even then he did not heed my words, so he suffered from impropriety. Even now he does not heed my words, and suffers from this impropriety. Furthermore, listen to how he did not heed my words and suffered from impropriety. Monks, in the past there was a householder living in a mountain valley who had an ox with the marks of an ox. He gave food to monks, Brahmins, his own people, the poor, the helpless, the miserly, and the sick, and let them use it as they pleased. At another time, while walking around, it fell into the mud, and the householder heard about it near sunset and went to look for it. When he arrived, he thought: I can't pull it out now, I'll pull it out tomorrow morning. The ox said: Put a rope in front of me and leave, and if a fox comes, I will take the rope with my horns and put it on it. He put a rope in front of it and left, and at night a fox came and said: Who is digging lotus roots and white lotuses? The ox said: It is I, I am stuck in the mud. The fox thought: I have met food, and began to approach it, and the ox said: You

Now go away from here! Because of impropriety, you will suffer. However, since it cannot be reversed, it will harm in the same way. The bull said in verse: I do not pull out the roots of the lotus, nor am I a white lotus. If you want to eat, go behind and eat! The fox thought it could eat, so it rode on the back of the bull. As a result, the horns of the bull king were like a rope, and the fox's neck was caught and hung in the air. The bull said in verse: Are you a dancing Zabkepa? Or a child learning to dance? There are no rewards in the monastery, the craft should be displayed in the city. The fox also said in verse: I am not a dancing Zabkepa, nor a child learning to dance. It was Indra who set up the ladder, and I am going to the Brahma world. The bull again said in verse: Indra did not set up the ladder, let alone the Brahma world. Because you are caught by the rope of skillful means, I don't see you living. Monks, what do you think? The bull king at that time was me! The fox at that time was Good Star, and at that time he did not listen to my words, so he suffered from impropriety. Even now he still does not listen to my words, so he suffers from impropriety. The monks became doubtful and asked the World Honored One Buddha, who cuts off all doubts: Venerable Good Star, because he did not listen to the teachings of the World Honored One, is indulging in uninterrupted hell. The World Honored One taught: Monks, it is not only like this now, but in the past life, he also did not listen to my words, and indulged in uninterrupted hell, listen. Monks, in the past, in a rich, prosperous, happy, and fruitful palace of a king, full of people and many people, the king named Shengxin was allowed to take charge of the government, and by the power of merit, the gods set up a throne for him in the void. That king's minister had two sons, of whom the elder liked to appear, and the younger liked to be a minister.
