Great king, furthermore, some ascetics or Brahmins, using what is given in faith, diligently engage in composing argumentative speeches, abiding in this way: "Just as I know all of this Dharma and Discipline, so too do you know all of this Dharma and Discipline, but mine is reasonable, and yours is not reasonable. Mine is relevant, and yours is irrelevant; what should be said first is said later, and what should be said later is said first. You speak too quickly and unclearly. The argument ends in failure. Release the words you spoke for the sake of the argument! It has already been refuted! If you can refute, then ask and speak!" Like this, the ascetic turns away from engaging in composing various argumentative speeches. Great king, furthermore, some ascetics and Brahmins, using what is given in faith, live by going as messengers and by improper giving, doing this: they act as messengers for kings, great ministers, Brahmins, city dwellers, village dwellers, wealthy people, merchants, and leaders, leading messengers from Chubi to Pabir for guidance, and leading messengers from Pabir to Chubi for guidance. The ascetic turns away from such actions as going as a messenger and improper giving. 再者,从事占相之术。即是说,沙门从以卑劣的占相之术为生的邪命中 वापस (vāpasa,返回)了。大王,再者,有些沙门或婆罗门,享用信徒以信心布施之物,却以卑劣的占相之术为生,例如:精通星宿之术,须臾与起立之术,品评味道,咒语之业,寂静之业,鬼神之业,增益之业,支配之业,书写文字之业,焚香祭祀之业,算数,有些则从事镜子的占相之术。即是说,沙门从以卑劣的占相之术为生的邪命中 वापस (vāpasa,返回)了。大王,再者,有些沙门或婆罗门,享用信徒以信心布施之物,却以卑劣的占相之术为生,例如:身体的占相,根的药,施予眼药,施予油膏的味道,施予药物,妇女的占相,男子的占相,青年的占相,少女的占相,从事药物之术。即是说,沙门从以卑劣的占相之术为生的邪命中 वापस (vāpasa,返回)了。大王,再者,有些沙门或婆罗门,享用信徒以信心布施之物,却以卑劣的占相之术为生,例如:宝珠的相,杖的相,刀剑的相,箭的相,象的相,马的相,武器的相,水牛的相,牡牛的相,山羊的相,绵羊的相,乌鸦的相,翠鸟的相,猫头鹰的相,妇女的相,男子的相,青年的相,少女的相,短命的相,长寿的相,薄福的相,厚福的相,少福的相,多福的相,小势力的相,大势力的相,主人的相,奴仆的相。即是说,沙门从以卑劣的占相之术为生的邪命中 वापस (vāpasa,返回)了。

Great King, furthermore, some ascetics or Brahmins, enjoying what is given in faith by believers, live by a base and wrongful livelihood of divination, such as: the characteristics of jewels, the characteristics of staffs, the characteristics of swords, the characteristics of arrows, the characteristics of elephants, the characteristics of horses, the characteristics of weapons, the characteristics of buffaloes, the characteristics of bulls, the characteristics of goats, the characteristics of sheep, the characteristics of crows, the characteristics of kingfishers, the characteristics of owls, the characteristics of women, the characteristics of men, the characteristics of youth, the characteristics of young women, the signs of short life, the signs of long life, the signs of small fortune, the signs of great fortune, the signs of little merit, the signs of much merit, the signs of little power, the signs of great power, the characteristics of masters, and the characteristics of servants. That is to say, the ascetic has returned from such a base and wrongful livelihood of divination.
