I, the villagers and the countrymen together went to that abode, prayed to the Bodhisattva, invited him to our own city, and made him the king. Then, the king became known as "Saving All, Giving All." He gave various kinds of gifts to ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the destitute, friends, relatives, kin, and those who live on leftovers, and then spoke in verses: Those who strive for enlightenment, give alms without fear to the royal caste, Brahmin caste, Vaishya caste, Shudra caste, Chandalas, and the Yungpo. Gold and silver, cows and horses, and jeweled earrings, likewise slaves who do the cleaning, give to those who are perfectly endowed with morality. With a mind free from attachment, having given away sons and daughters completely, in this world and the next, people will attain purity. That great king, in that time, who became known as "Saving All," who gave various kinds of gifts to ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the destitute, friends, relatives, kin, and those who live on leftovers, and accumulated merit, if you think that was someone else, you should not look at it that way. I myself in that time was that king called "Saving All." I myself there gave various kinds of gifts to ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the destitute, friends, relatives, kin, and those who live on leftovers, and accumulated merit. Great king, if you think that I obtained unsurpassed perfect enlightenment through my giving or the distribution of giving, you should not look at it that way. However, my giving is merely the cause, condition, and accumulation for obtaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Great king, furthermore, listen to what I did to give alms and accumulate merit for the sake of attaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Great king, in the past, in a town city called "Everything Has Happened," there arose a king called "Friend of All Kings." He was wealthy, prosperous, happy, and had good harvests.

Cracked, the people and many people are fully filled. Fighting and, quarreling and, bloody and, fighting and, theft and, diseases are completely calmed. Rice and, sugarcane and, cattle are abundant. Like loving an only son, he was allowed to rule the kingdom, and he was allowed to govern the kingdom according to the Dharma. He took a wife from the same clan, and together with her he played, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness. He played, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness, from which a boy was born who was well-formed, beautiful, pleasing to the eye, with skin the color of gold, a head like an umbrella, long arms, and a broad body. His relatives gathered together and discussed what name to give the child. The wise ones said, this young man is the son of the friend of all kings, therefore he should be named "Deliverer of All Youths." Thus, after being named "Deliverer of All Youths," he was entrusted to eight wet nurses, from the phrase "entrusted to eight wet nurses" to "became proficient in the five places," it is the same as before. Whatever he begged for, he gave to all the beggars, therefore his name was known as "Giver of All, Giver of All." There was a king's daughter from the small kingdom of Kham (now the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan) named Bountiful Giver, who was sought for him, and he married her as his wife with great wealth. He and she played together, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness, and soon after a boy was born, who was named Black. Again, he played with her, rejoiced, and enjoyed happiness, and a girl was born, who was named Net. The friend of all kings had a great elephant named Auspicious Jewel Elephant, and by its power, the various small kingdoms of Kham were subdued. He said to Deliverer of All: Son, we are able to subdue the various small kingdoms of Kham a little, all of which is due to the power of this jewel elephant, even if you give away everything, leave this Auspicious Jewel Elephant. The various small kingdoms of Kham said: By what power are we all suppressed by this friend of all kings? Some said:

said: King Sarvamitra has a glorious elephant named Mangala-yukta. By its power, we are suppressed. They said: By what means can that glorious elephant be brought back? What good method is there? The ministers said: O god, the son of King Sarvamitra, named Sarva-dada, has nothing that he does not give or bestow. Whatever is asked of him, he gives, therefore his name is known as the all-giver. Send some Brahmins, and if they ask, they will be able to bring it back. They summoned some Brahmins and said: Brahmins, now in the town called Sarva, ask Sarva-dada for the glorious elephant. Having been sent, they went to the town of Sarva. The youth Sarva-dada, riding the glorious elephant, whose color was like the Kunda flower, the Kumuda flower, snow, silver, and a white cloud, with six perfect senses, seven well-placed limbs, the elephant walking majestically like the son of the earth-guardian, adorned with natural excellent marks, auspicious to see, riding the elephant, with extremely lovely slaves, friends, and servants following behind, like the moon surrounded by a host of stars, came out of the city and went to the side of the pleasure garden. Then, those who were sent met the youth Sarva-dada and said: O prince of the royal family, may you be victorious! They also said: In the world with gods and non-gods, you are known as the all-giver. It is fitting that you bestow this glorious elephant upon us. Having said this, the Bodhisattva descended from the glorious elephant, and with a joyful, delighted, and exceedingly joyful mind, showed the glorious elephant to those Brahmins, saying: Just as I, with great joy today, give the elephant to the Brahmins, may I likewise abandon the three realms and attain supreme enlightenment! The ministers said to King Sarvamitra: O god, your son Sarva-dada has given the glorious elephant named Mangala-yukta to those sent by the outsiders who came to ask for it. Having heard this, the king became very angry and commanded: Know
