What is there to consider in what I have requested? You are known in the world as the one who gives everything with compassion. As you are known, you should always act accordingly. Having said this, the Bodhisattva Sarvatrāṇa said to the Brahmin: "Hey, great Brahmin! Even in giving up one's own life, I have never considered it many times. When giving up my own children, why would I change my mind? Great Brahmin, although it is so, I, having raised them in the forest, after completely abandoning these two children, I wonder how the suffering of separation from their mother will exist. The young man is extremely devoid of affection, abandoning the children and saying they are not mine, some will come to accuse me. Brahmin, it is better if you take me away. Then the Brahmin said to Sarvatrāṇa: "Hey, young man of noble lineage, born into the lineage of a great king, whose virtues are known throughout this land, who engages in loving all beings with compassion, like an elephant of incense with offerings, offerings, and reverence, who makes offerings to monks, Brahmins, and sudden people, who gathers the poor, the destitute, the helpless, and the hungry, who completely fulfills the wishes of all, seeing you is meaningful, did you come to me without gain? Is it like smoke on the road without fruit? Is seeing you meaningless? Is the desire hoped for and longed for for a long time without result? That is not appropriate, because if you say no, the horse of hope in my heart will quickly return. Therefore, you should fulfill my wish and then give. Why is that? Wearing the ocean as clothing, the incomparable star, with a torso possessing breasts like rising mountains, even if measuring the land including towns and villages, there is no giver as generous as you. Then, Bodhisattva Sarvatrāṇa, hearing the words of the Brahmin, thought thus with attachment to his children: If for a moment the two children, are given to the Brahmin, then the suffering arising from separation from the children!

I and the food will receive blessings. However, if I do not give to this person, my practice will also decline, and this Brahmin will return empty-handed, as he came. If I do not bear the sorrow of losing my beloved sons today, my vow will be broken, and my practice will decline. Thereafter, the Bodhisattva Sarvadada, having resolved to give away his beloved two sons, said: Alas, with hundreds of austerities, in order to liberate the beings of the world from the great ocean of suffering, to save those who are drowning in the bottomless abyss, I will build a bridge to the other shore. With a face as bright as the spotless moon, he fearlessly spoke these words, his eyes filled with tears, and gave the two children to the Brahmin. He further said: May I obtain vast benefits from the fruit of giving away these sons, and thereby liberate all beings of the world from the ocean of samsara. As soon as he gave away these two young children, the earth immediately shook in six ways. Then, due to the earthquake, the ascetics living in that grove were frightened and said to each other: The earth has shaken terribly, whose power is this due to? Who possesses such great power? We must understand clearly. At that time, there was an elderly ascetic, living in the same place as them, and skilled in divination, who explained the reason to those practitioners: It is not the work of demons, but the two children living in the hermitage, who eat fruits and drink water, are beloved and endearing, Sarvadada has abandoned them in order to completely liberate suffering beings, and therefore the earth is shaking. Thereafter, those two young children, because their father had abandoned them from the depths of his heart, from their wisdom arose compassion, they cried out, joined their hands, and knelt at the feet of Sarvadada, saying: Father, since we have no mother, you wish to give us away, please allow us to see you once more, and then give us away. Thereafter, the Bodhisattva, his face darkened by the unbearable pain in his heart, with tears streaming down, embraced the two children and said: Children, it is not that I do not love you, but that my heart is filled with loving-kindness and compassion.
