The Blessed One was staying in Shravasti (ancient Indian city, now in Uttar Pradesh, India). At that time, another monk suffered from scabies, and he went to the doctor and said: O worthy one, I have scabies, please prescribe medicine for me. The doctor said: O holy one, please use astringent medicine, and you will be cured. O worthy one, can I use what I like? The doctor said: O monk, this is your medicine, no other medicine can cure you. At this time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One, etc., as mentioned above. Your teacher is omniscient, only he knows. At this time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One instructed: There are five kinds of astringent medicines, namely mango astringent medicine, etc., as mentioned above. That monk mashed the astringent medicine into a paste and applied it to his body, and as a result, the wound worsened. The Blessed One instructed: Grind it into powder. The monks applied wet powder to their bodies, and as a result, they swelled up. The Blessed One instructed: Dry it. They put the powder in the sun to dry, and as a result, the medicinal effect weakened. The Blessed One instructed: Do not put it in the sun to dry. They dried the powder in the shade, and as a result, it rotted. The Blessed One instructed: Dry it in the shade with sunlight. 不做事情啊。世尊开示说：用手揉搓到合适的程度后沐浴。洗完后又用碱擦拭，擦拭后又洗，就会做碱的事情了。7A 那位比丘用碱擦拭后，疾病就痊愈了，他把碱的残余物扔掉了。过了一段时间，另一位比丘也得了同样的病，他也去医生那里，说：从“做什么”开始，就像前面一样。他说：我把它扔掉了。做了不好的事情啊。这时，比丘们向世尊禀告。 世尊开示说：我要为持有碱的比丘制定共同遵守的戒律。持有碱的比丘，使用碱后剩下的残余物，应该布施给前来乞讨的比丘。如果没给，就放在药房里。持有碱的比丘，如果没有正确地接受并遵守所制定的共同戒律，就会犯下重罪。这个地方是在舍卫城。当时，另一位比丘得了眼病，他去医生那里，说：贤者，我得了眼病，请您给我药。医生说：圣者，请您分别使用不同的眼药，您就会痊愈的。贤者，难道我可以随意使用吗？贤者，您的药是唯一的，其他药都不能治好我的病。这时，比丘们向世尊禀告。世尊开示说：如果医生说，这种药是唯一的，其他药都不能治好你的病，那就应该使用这种眼药。比丘们不知道应该使用哪种眼药，他们就问医生，医生说：圣者，您的导师是全知者啊。这时，比丘们向世尊禀告。世尊开示说：眼药有五种，即：花朵眼药、汁液眼药、粉末眼药、兽骨眼药和粗布眼药。之后，那位比丘使用了那种眼药，就痊愈了。他把眼药的残余物随意放置，导致浪费了。

The doctor said: Holy one, please use different eye medicines separately, and you will be cured. Wise one, can I use it at will? Wise one, your medicine is the only one, and other medicines cannot cure my disease. At this time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: If the doctor says that this medicine is the only one, and other medicines cannot cure your disease, then you should use this eye medicine. The monks did not know which eye medicine to use, so they asked the doctor, and the doctor said: Holy one, your teacher is omniscient. At this time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: There are five kinds of eye medicines, namely: flower eye medicine, juice eye medicine, powder eye medicine, animal bone eye medicine, and coarse cloth eye medicine. After that, that monk used that eye medicine and was cured. He placed the residue of the eye medicine at will, which led to waste.
