Completely translated. Abiding near like light, having done and accumulated those (virtuous deeds) that will not be devoured by demons and will happen, then who, whether oneself or others, will experience the karma done and accumulated by these two themselves? Monks, the karma done and accumulated will not ripen in the external realm of earth, nor will it ripen in the realm of water, nor will it ripen in the realm of fire, nor will it ripen in the realm of wind. Like this, the virtuous and non-virtuous deeds done and accumulated will ripen in the aggregates, realms, and sources that are grasped. Even if karma passes through hundreds of kalpas, it will not be in vain; when the causes and conditions come together, it will transform into fruition on sentient beings. Monks, in the past, during this very Fortunate Aeon (Bhaddakappa), when the lifespan of beings could reach twenty thousand years, the teacher, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, knower of the world, tamer of men, unsurpassed, teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Bhagavan Krakucchanda appeared in the world. He dwelt near the Deer Park at Isipatana in Varanasi with a sangha of twenty thousand monks. In Varanasi, there were two householders who were friends with each other. When they were young, they wanted to renounce, but they did not obtain permission to renounce from their relatives. When their youth had passed, they looked to their relatives and renounced under the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Krakucchanda. This is the nature of dharma, as a sign, gradually working from youth, therefore, monks, respect these two old renunciates. Admonish them, saying: These two old renunciates, be careful. At that time, one was of a talkative nature, and the other was of a quiet nature, so one became angry, and the other said: Old renunciate, you did not renounce when you were young, why are you angry now? At that time, these two practiced celibacy as long as they lived, without gaining any accumulation of merit, and then at the time of death, they made this aspiration: May we become the source of the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyaksambuddha, the unsurpassed.

If one practices pure conduct for as long as the life of the Tathagata Light Protector lasts, one will not obtain any accumulation of merit. With the root of virtue from our practice of pure conduct for as long as life lasts, we pray that the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha Light Protector said to the Brahmin boy: Brahmin boy, in the future, when beings die and their lifespan can reach one hundred years, the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, unsurpassed charioteer who tames beings, teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha Bhagavan, named Shakyamuni, will appear. Under his teachings, we renounced the world when we were only seven years old. The Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, the Knower and Seer, in terms of taming, for the training rules established for the Shravakas, relying on us two, he relaxed them, and may we abandon all defilements and realize the Arhat fruit. Monks, those two boys at that time were these two novices. The aspiration they made at that time caused them to renounce the world when they were only seven years old, and the training rules for the Shravakas that I established, relying on these two, were relaxed, and they abandoned all defilements and realized the Arhat fruit. When the Buddha Bhagavan was traveling in the country of Kashi, he went to a certain place and smiled. By the nature of Dharma, whenever the Buddha Bhagavan smiles, blue, yellow, red, white, madder, crystal, and silver-colored rays of light emanate from his mouth, some going downwards and some going upwards. Those that go downwards shine upon the sentient beings in the hells of rebirth, black rope, crushing, calling, great calling, hot, very hot, uninterrupted, blister, blister burst, and so on.
