Having observed those who, without realizing the non-existence of self and what belongs to self, cling to it, and due to that clinging, the fire of suffering blazes in their continuum. Because of the countless cycles of rebirth, beings are so numerous that it's as if none have ever been seen by anyone, their number is immeasurable. In order to liberate all beings dwelling in samsara, first generate love and compassion in your mind. Then, for their sake, firmly establish the mind of enlightenment, aspiring to attain the state of glorious Heruka. After that, since all phenomena are manifestations of mind and wind, contemplate that there is no meaning apart from the mind. Thinking of the wind-mind as the deity's form is the self-blessing, the conventional truth. Then, through the method of previous bliss and mindfulness, draw the wind-mind into the central channel and meditate on the great emptiness samadhi accompanied by bliss. After that, contemplate merging into the nature of mind, at that time, its characteristic is luminosity, without appearance. Like the expanse of the sky, look with the eye of wisdom. Look with mindfulness, without distraction. Look with faith, believing with certainty. Look with diligence, eliminating worldly thoughts. Look with samadhi, in a one-pointed manner, so that the luminous nature of mind, that which is without appearance, yet clear and pure, appears, and relying on that, definite knowledge will arise. The example of looking with mindfulness, without distraction, is like a person carrying a pile of mustard seeds in their hand. The example of believing with faith is like a young woman experiencing desire. The example of diligence is like guarding the gate of a king's palace. The example of samadhi is to look like a flame in a windless place. The example of wisdom's certainty is like seeing someone you knew before but didn't recognize. The stories of these examples are not written due to fear of excessive length. Thus, abide in the mind for as long as you are able, and then, from that state, in an instant, arise as an illusory deity form, and contemplate all things as being like reflections in water, free from addition and subtraction, merely the nature of appearance. All virtuous deeds propelled by love, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment should be perfected in a way that is like reflections in water, free from addition and subtraction.

With wisdom free from differentiation, one should perfect all virtuous dharmas; if not, one will fall into the path of the Shravakas, etc. Therefore, it is said in the sutra: Without skillful means, devoid of wisdom, one falls into the path of the Shravakas. So, what are skillful means? It is to perfect all virtuous dharmas, to ripen all sentient beings, and to purify all Buddha-fields, propelled by the mind of enlightenment. What is wisdom? It is to cut off attachment and elaboration to them. Therefore, if there are no skillful means, then wisdom will not arise. Similarly, in other Mahayana sutras, it is extensively taught: Skillful means gather all virtuous dharmas, and wisdom distinguishes them. Such a yogi does not abide in either extreme but walks on, therefore it is said: The mind accustomed to its own nature does not abide anywhere; this itself is the unsurpassed path to enlightenment. Now, in order to show another object seen by the eye of wisdom, it is said: Like someone with cataracts who says they see hairs in the sky. And so on, the object seen by that is twofold: non-existence and existence. Seeing non-existence is the wisdom that sees this shore and all that is knowable without remainder, that is, seeing non-existence is like someone with cataracts seeing hairs, and so on. Seeing the nature of existence is twofold: the basis, clear light, and the dependent, seeing the qualities of uncontaminated virtues. How does one see clear light? It is seeing without birth and without characteristics, therefore it is said: Without birth, without abiding, all beings are perfectly pure. How does one see the qualities of uncontaminated virtues? Like illusion, dream, optical illusion, and moon in water, free from exaggeration and denigration, merely appearing, merely experiencing, one sees naturally. Therefore it is said: Like an optical illusion, it will definitely appear completely. Now, in order to incidentally refute the yoga of analysis that has come along, it is said: Do not be attached to what is produced by the elaboration of analysis. The elaboration of analysis refers to bindus and subtle things, and so on. Non-attachment means that although there is a subtle mind abiding relying on it, it is not the path to enlightenment because it does not possess the characteristics of the path, therefore it is to be refuted. It is not the path that cuts the wheel of samsaric delusion, therefore it is shown as the cause of samsara, that is: other than various kinds of conceptual thoughts.
