Having done so, they tame sentient beings through the means of friendship. They endure suffering, harm, and the faults of conditioned things for the sake of friends. For the benefit and happiness of all beings, they willingly accept harm for the sake of friends. Where there is no manifest renunciation and no Dharma, going to solitary places, not seeking liberation. There, completely abandoning royal power and wealth, with a peaceful mind, they manifest being nowhere. Those, in order to completely liberate all beings from home, bondage, and the place of existence, not dwelling in all the pleasures of desire, manifest renunciation and proclaim liberation. Those who speak of the ten conducts, and whatever Dharma practices of the great beings, and all the conduct of the righteous, completely proclaim them and do the benefit of beings. Where immeasurable sentient beings are long-lived, endowed with happiness, and have little affliction. There, they show being threatened by old age, having diseases, being without control, and being under the power of death. Showing the world where desire blazes, hatred blazes greatly, the great fire of worldly ignorance blazes, and old age, sickness, and death blaze greatly, thereby taming sentient beings. Those, with the ten powers and four confidences of the Buddha, and also with the eight superiorities of the Dharma, speak of the Buddha's great nature, and do the benefit of beings with the Buddha's qualities. Those, having spoken all, showing the subsequent miracles, with the power of the blessing of the body, in all places, show the miracles of the Tathāgata (藏文:དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ།,梵文天城体:तथागत,梵文罗马拟音:Tathāgata,汉语字面意思:如来), and tame sentient beings by the transformation of miracles. Those, with various methods, wander in the world and do the benefit of beings. Not attached to the world, like a lotus in water, they rejoice and have faith, and wander everywhere. Those poets compose great poems, dancers, drummers, wrestlers, and musicians, holding beautiful decorations and garlands, perform dances, and illusionists show many forms everywhere. They become villagers, village chiefs, helmsmen, and likewise become boatmen, merchants, and householders. They become kings, ministers, guides, messengers, doctors, authors of worldly treatises, and ritualists. Those in solitary places become great trees, and become inexhaustible treasures of medicine and jewels.

And, like wish-fulfilling jewels, trees that grant desires, they become guides for those who are lost and have fallen into pits. Having become wise not long after the world arose, for those who do not understand the ways of the karma of sentient beings, they teach the methods of plowing, commerce, and various crafts, making the world prosperous. Whatever action is harmless and without harm, which brings happiness to sentient beings, is praised by the wise. The power of lineage, medicine, and all kinds of treatises, are all proclaimed by those sages. Whatever the gods and the world admire, whether it be the supreme conduct of sages, or any severe asceticism and the highest austerities, are all proclaimed by those wise ones. Those with strange behavior, wandering heretics, and those who oppose Gautama and practice silence, naked, unclothed, fully accepting ascetics, all claim to be wise teachers among the heretics. Those who adhere to various ways of life, those with and without teachers, those with long hair and young ascetics, they too will become teachers. Observing the path of the sun, practicing the five-fire austerity, imitating the behavior of dogs and cows. And those who engage in sexual activity and the thirty types of heretics, they too will become teachers. Those who delight in entering the knowledge of the gods, and those who wander in the realms of heretics, even if they only consume roots, fruits, and water, they consider themselves to be unparalleled saints. Sitting alone in silence, wandering alone, sleeping in thorn bushes or ashes, and those who dwell in wooden mortars, they too will become teachers. All these heretics, having understood and believed in their respective thoughts, through difficult to approach, unbearable, extreme austerities, they subdue the suffering of heretics. Having understood that the world is confused by various views, for those heretics who hold wrong views, they will show them the truth with subtle theories and methods. Some reveal the truth with the basis of flying mantras, in an extremely secret way. Some with clear and direct language, some with the secret language of the gods. Some with the analysis of letters and the distinction of words, and with the exact understanding of meaning and vajra-like language, and those who know the language of debate and subduing opponents, and trea-
