Therefore, because it is unchanging, it is the true Three Jewels. So, what is the nature of the Three Jewels as refuge? The Victorious Maitreya said: "Uncreated and spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other causes, endowed with wisdom, compassion, and power, possessing the two benefits is the Buddha." It also says: "Without thought, without duality, without discrimination, pure and clear is the quality of taming, whatever is free from attachment by whatever, that which possesses the characteristics of the two truths is the Dharma." It also says: "Among all that exists and all that is, because the wisdom gaze is pure, it possesses unsurpassed qualities, because it is wise, it is an irreversible assembly." Thus it is said. These are the outer Three Jewels of refuge, the inner refuge is the three of the Guru, Yidam, and Dakini, and the secret refuge is one's own mind, the unborn Dharmakaya, which Padmasambhava has extensively explained. The meaning of these is: In the Tantra of the Meaning Drop Liberating All Beings, it says: "Guru, Three Jewels, refuge, until enlightenment I take refuge." Also, in the Sambhuti Tantra, it says: "Emptiness and compassion are inseparable, wherever the mind is practiced, that is the Buddha and also the Dharma, and it is said to be the Sangha." Also, in the Manifestation of Enlightenment, it says: "The first mind is the Buddha, the second is also known as the Dharma, and the mind that arises simultaneously with it is said to be the Sangha." Thus it is said. Thus, although the Three Jewels of meaning are present in all beings, they have not manifested due to being obscured by karma. Therefore, in the appearance of faith, how should one take refuge in the outer and inner Three Jewels? Padmasambhava said so. In particular, in the tradition of the unsurpassed secret mantra such as the Great Perfection, one does not look for the Three Jewels of refuge elsewhere, but should know that the mind of one's own root Guru, who possesses the qualities, is the Buddha, speech is the Dharma, and body is the Sangha, the Guru is the collection of all the Three Jewels. The following explains the actual method of taking refuge: In the Vajra Verses, it says: "In the space in front, Samantabhadra, surrounded by countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, to Samantabhadra and all the Buddha's children, I take refuge with one-pointed mind." And, in its commentary, the Great Compassionate One himself said: Now one's own

In the sky in front, Dharmakaya Samantabhadra abides, surrounded by countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas like a marketplace. To Samantabhadra, the Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas who abide, I take refuge with one-pointed mind. The meaning of this statement is: You should all visualize in this way. On this base in front, there is a great ocean of nectar with eight qualities, surrounded by peacock stones and golden sand, various water birds making pleasant sounds, and adorned with various jewels and flowers. In the center of the ocean, from the syllable (藏文:པཾ,梵文天城体:प,梵文罗马拟音:paṃ,汉语字面意思:seed syllable Pam) arises a lotus tree with branches extending in ten directions, and on the fruits are born the eight auspicious symbols and other various jewels. On top of that, visualize a four-petaled lotus flower made of various jewels, its expanse equal to three thousand great thousand worlds. On its pistil and four petals, visualize a jewel throne each, and on the central throne, on a lotus and moon cushion, abides Dharmakaya Samantabhadra, inseparable from the root guru. Samantabhadra, with a dark blue body, possessing the mudra of meditative equipoise, abiding in the vajra posture, embracing the consort Samantabhadri inseparable. Surrounding him are the five Buddha families, father and mother, the sixth Vajradhara, and countless Sambhogakaya Buddhas, all abiding in union as father and mother. Above that are all the gurus of the Buddhas' mind transmission, the vidyadharas' symbolic transmission, and the personal oral transmission, as well as the eight great vidyadharas of India, the twenty-five kings and subjects of Tibet, the one hundred and eight vidyadhara treasure revealers, all naked, adorned with six bone ornaments, holding hand drums and bells, wearing tiger skin skirts and elephant skin upper garments, dancing and flashing, abiding in the intention of blessing the fortunate ones. On the throne to the right is the teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, surrounded by the seven Buddhas and the thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon, all emanations, wearing the three dharma robes, with the earth-touching and meditative mudras, adorned with the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks, blazing with light and rays. On the throne behind...
