Even if one becomes..., one will again become a servant of samsara. Even if one becomes worthy of offering to Indra, one will fall to the earth again due to karma. Thus it is said. Having explained the suffering of such transformation, generally speaking about the faults of samsara: In the words of the Vajra Verse Root Commentary, it says: wandering in the six realms, there is suffering, there is unimaginable suffering. This is the meaning. In the Extensive Play it says: Beings in the world bound by ignorance, humans, gods, demigods, and the three lower realms, constantly revolve in the six realms, like a potter's wheel. It also says: The suffering of birth, old age, and sickness in the three realms, this immortal blazing fire is indestructible, beings arising from existence are always deluded, like a bee trapped in a jar. Also, in the Sutra it says: The desire realm is flawed, the form realm is also flawed, similarly, the formless realm is also flawed, only the peace of Nirvana is seen as flawless. Also, in the Mindfulness Sutra it says: In samsara, even on the tip of a needle, there is never happiness. Thus it is said. The happiness of the place of samsara has no essence, The Letter to a Friend says: Having experienced the pleasure of touching the breasts and waists of heavenly maidens for a long time, one must again endure the extremely unbearable touch of the cutting wheel in hell. The touch of the feet can endure the pleasure of softness, having stayed on the summit of Mount Meru for a long time, one must again experience the extremely unbearable suffering of being burned and melted by fire. Approaching heavenly maidens, rejoicing, having gone to and exchanged various beautiful gardens, one will again have one's hands, feet, and ears cut off by forests of leaves like swords. The slowly flowing heavenly maiden, with a beautiful face, sits on a golden lotus seat, and again in the boundless river of hell, enters the unbearable salt water hot springs. Thus it is said. Even if one obtains the body of the son of the gods, the sun and moon, it is meaningless. The Letter to a Friend says: Having obtained the body of the sun and moon, illuminating all the worlds with one's own light, one will again go into the darkness, and even stretching out one's own hand, one will not be able to see. Thus it is said. In samsara, there is no certainty of enemies and friends.

Therefore, Nagarjuna said: A father becomes a son, an enemy becomes a wife, and beings who become enemies also become friends. Because things are always the opposite, it is said: There is nothing certain in samsara. Also, in the Brahman Jataka, the Blessed One said: Parents, brothers, as well as relatives, friends, and sons, are all unreliable, and clinging to them is an inverted world. A mother will become a wife, a wife will become a daughter-in-law, a daughter-in-law will become a maidservant, and an enemy will become the head of the household. What was once a father will become a son, a son will become an enemy, and an enemy will become a slave; like this, being ordered around will not change. A king will become a butcher, a butcher will become a poor person, as well as bad villagers, lowly people, and will be despised by the world. A Brahman will become a king, a king will become a prince, a prince will become a commoner, as well as a Chandalas (gDol pa), will become poor. Those who are born as your sons, thousands upon thousands, hundreds upon hundreds, millions upon millions, will become enemies at other times. So it is said that being an enemy in this life will become a son in the next life, etc., these are uncertain. Even in this life, enemies and friends are not certain. In the Sutra Requested by Good Arms, it says: Sometimes an enemy will become a friend, and a friend will become an enemy, some will become intermediaries, and intermediaries will become enemies. Like this, recognizing that friends will change, the wise will never cling. Cut off the discriminating thoughts of fondness for relatives and friends, turn to virtue, and abide in a comfortable state. It is said like this. In samsara, there is no point in conquering enemies and protecting relatives. In the Removal of Sorrow Sutra, it says: Again and again in hell, the molten copper juice that is drunk is not as much as the water in the ocean. When becoming dogs and pigs, the impure things that are eaten are more than Mount Meru, the king of mountains. Being completely separated from friends and relatives, the tears cried in samsara cannot be contained by the ocean. The heads that are cut off for fighting with each other, piled up are higher than the Brahma world. Life
