Rest! Settle down a little, stay in that state. If it scatters again, look at its essence. Whatever thoughts arise, deal with them in that way. In this way, if one thought is realized as emptiness, then all thoughts are its continuation. If you see the inside of one bamboo as empty, then you know that the inside of all bamboos is empty. Seeing how the mind stays, moves, or is, that is awareness. Like this, these three, staying, moving, and awareness, are the experience of a beginner. For the fortunate ones who have practiced before, these three, staying, moving, and awareness, can be recognized, and a high realization will arise. Orgyen Rinpoche said: Self-aware appearance, the infinite body. If you look at the mind free from grasping, then infinite appearance is not separate. Self-aware Dharmakaya is very wonderful. Unobstructed, self-luminous, great compassion. If you look at the mind beyond words, then great compassion is not separate. Self-born Sambhogakaya is very wonderful. Thoughts self-liberate, Padmasambhava. Rest in the state of ungrasping transparency. Padmasambhava is not separate. Self-born Nirmanakaya is very wonderful. It's like when learning the alphabet, it starts with "ka tshar." However, just knowing "ka tshar" is not enough. When the letters become proficient, even when reading the Kangyur and Tengyur, there are no letters that are not "ka tshar." From the beginning, it is staying and moving. Even if one realizes without meditation, there is nothing that is not staying and moving to meditate on, but there are more opportunities to increase experience and realization. The so-called mind staying is like being still like this. The so-called mind moving is like scattering in all directions like this. Just having this understanding is not enough. You must nakedly observe the essence of each of staying and moving, so that you clearly see that the essence is emptiness. If you see this, then there is no good or bad difference between staying and moving. When staying, it is also clear and empty, naked; when moving, it is also self-liberating, running freely. This is recognizing staying and moving. Like this, after requesting the Vipassanā guidance, and dedicating the merit of practicing Vipassanā for all sentient beings to attain perfect enlightenment, please repeat together: May the merit be dedicated to all mother-like beings in the six realms! Three! This is the special occasion of Vipassanā guidance, the seventeenth Dharma session. Then, the explanation of view, meditation, and action: From the root Vajra words: Again, look back, look at the mind!

Look at that empty nature of mind! All phenomena are similarly empty. The practice of Great Perfection is looking at one's own mind. Thus it is said. In its commentary it says: Furthermore, look back at your own mind. Look at that which is the emptiness of your own mind. All phenomena are similarly empty. The root of what is called the practice of Great Perfection is looking at the essence of one's own mind. Explaining the meaning of what was said slightly more extensively: As it says in the Armor Display Sutra: One does not look at emptiness with emptiness. Even apart from emptiness, one does not look at emptiness. What is it that one looks at in that way? It is called seeing emptiness. As it says in the Sutra of the Samadhi of the Four Youths: Whoever knows emptiness by emptiness, and does not think about that emptiness, those who do not see emptiness, those are the ones who know emptiness. Whoever thoroughly knows those phenomena, I will not be found in that. Whoever I am not found in, how could suffering arise from that? There is no taking near to emptiness, and no finding of characteristics, He who teaches the dharma of selflessness is the son born from the heart of the Buddha. In the lineage that is beyond the reach of knowledge and thought, it says: The ultimate end of all phenomena is the realm where there is no inherent existence. With a mind that has no view, one will see the Great Seal. Thus it is said. Also, as it says in the Clear Expanse: The way things abide in their essential nature is that the essence is empty and the nature is clear. Because compassion is capable of appearing in all things, it is self-clear without being made. From the very beginning, it is naturally abiding. From the general aspect of emptiness, it is free from the extreme of permanence. From the aspect of clarity, it is free from the extreme of annihilation. In the state of clarity and emptiness, it is free from grasping. The original purity is all-pervading clarity and emptiness. Thus it is said. Orgyen Rinpoche said: The general view of Dharma, the view of profound meaning, the view of unsurpassable Ati. First, the general view of Dharma is to know the distinctions of each vehicle. The view of profound meaning is that although there are countless names for views, the view is the natural state of knowable things, free from the three of arising, ceasing, and abiding, free from permanence, annihilation, coming, and going, The essence is emptiness, the nature is clear, and the appearance is unceasing. Emptiness is clear, and clarity is emptiness. This cannot be expressed in words. The essence of emptiness is free from the extremes of subject and object. Freedom from acceptance and analysis is the view of this Dharma. Furthermore, the view of unsurpassable Ati is the outer six.
