It is said: To all beings filling the three realms, giving life is more important than this. Also, as stated in the Great Liberation Sutra: When this Dharma declines, those who wish to repay the kindness of the Buddhas, even meditating for a moment, have greater merit than giving the lives of beings filling the empty sky. Meditating on contemplation has greater merit. Also, as stated in the Sutra of Entering the Holy Path: For all sentient beings, until the end of their lives, accumulating provisions with the necessities of life has less merit than meditating on emptiness for a single session. Also, as stated in the Great Crown Sutra: Accumulating learning for many eons has less merit than meditating on the meaning of Dharma nature for a single day. Why is that? Because it is to distance oneself from the path of birth and death. Also, as said by Tilopa: For example, even the darkness accumulated for a thousand eons, a single lamp can dispel all darkness. Similarly, in an instant of the clear light of one's own mind, one can eliminate the ignorance and obscurations accumulated over eons. As it is said, practicing in this way has immeasurable benefits, and it is best to attain Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body. Or, at the moment of death, death can be transformed into the Dharmakaya and attain Buddhahood. In the bardo, one can attain Buddhahood in the Sambhogakaya, inseparable from the Yidam deity, and so on. According to the differences in the faculties of beings, there are twenty-one ways to attain the fruit of Buddhahood. Among them, the very last is called exhaling in the pure realm of the Nirmanakaya, which means being born in the Buddha-field where one has made aspirations. On this, Machig Labdrön said: Except for Sukhavati, in all the excellent Buddha-fields, one cannot be born without attaining the eighth bhumi. In the intermediate Buddha-fields, one must also abandon even subtle afflictive obscurations and attain at least the path of meditation to be born there; otherwise, one cannot be born. In the five pure abodes (the five pure abodes of the form realm), such as Akanishta, and in places like Janglochen, one must also completely cut off self-grasping from the root and attain the path of seeing, which is the realization of the truth of Dharma nature, to be born there; otherwise, one cannot be born. However, without attaining the path of seeing, if one strictly keeps vows and commitments without even the slightest fault, and only does good deeds and strives in aspirations, one may still be born in some small Buddha-fields such as Tushita, but it is very difficult. Therefore, for beings with strong afflictions, it is impossible to have the hope of being born in a Buddha-field. However

Because of the power of the aspiration of the Protector Amitabha, the Protector himself has promised to be born in that pure land. Therefore, one must strive in every way for the aspiration to be born in Sukhavati. In this regard, abandoning doubt and hesitation, with unwavering faith and swift and diligent effort, one should remember the splendor and benefits of the Sukhavati pure land and pray to be born there. Sukhavati is more superior than other Buddha's pure lands, because even ordinary people with afflictions can be born there, which is its superiority. Moreover, after being born there, all desired things are immediately accomplished as soon as they are thought of, and one is not defiled even by subtle afflictions. It is sufficient to go to other Buddha's pure lands, which is its superiority. Moreover, becoming a Buddha faster than in other pure lands, etc., has inconceivable benefits, and there is no pure land closer than Sukhavati. Therefore, it is very important to strive to pray for rebirth in Sukhavati. Thus, the "Sukhavativyuha Sutra," the Amitabha chapter of the "Ratnakuta Sutra," the "White Lotus Sutra," the "Drum Sound Dharani," and the teachings of Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) all agree that, except for the five heinous crimes and abandoning the Dharma, if one single-mindedly prays to be born in that pure land, one can be born in Sukhavati. Moreover, it is said that if one makes ten wishes from the bottom of one's heart, one can be born there. This is due to the blessing of Amitabha Buddha's aspiration to become a Buddha. Therefore, it is very important to pray to that pure land. Dedication is like guiding a horse with reins. Dedication accomplishes all self-benefit and the benefit of others. As the "Ratnakuta Sutra" says: "The giving of Bodhicitta, if dedicated to Bodhi, benefits all sentient beings, and self-benefit is also immeasurable." Moreover, even if one does a small amount of good deeds, through dedication, it will not be exhausted until one attains Buddhahood, and it will increase day by day, happiness will increase, it will change from small to large, and ultimately one will attain the fruit of Buddhahood, so it is very important. Moreover, if one dedicates in a state of undistracted mind, it will become a dedication of the three wheels being completely pure, so it is very beneficial.
