Like an open mouth, blocking the dispersal of wind and thoughts will generate non-thought. Crossing like a window means crossing the ankles. The necessity of doing so is that it is equivalent to the vajra posture, and it cannot be blocked by obstacles. Binding like an iron chain means tightly wrapping from the knees with a vajra knot meditation belt, etc. The necessity of doing so is to keep the body's posture from changing. Sharpening like a file means putting a cloth pad in the buttocks and then tightly contracting the lower gate. The necessity of doing so is to make the channels and winds merge with each other, thereby quickly generating bliss and warmth. Regarding these five key points of the body, the venerable Marpa Lotsawa said: Putting all the instructions of Tibet together is not as great as these five key points of my body. How is that? These five key points of my body, through the key point of adjustment, the wind will naturally enter the central channel. Through that key point, tummo will naturally ignite from the navel. Through that key point, the bodhicitta nectar will naturally descend from the crown of the head. From this, bliss will naturally arise. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately block thoughts, and non-thought will arise uninterruptedly. From this, the wisdom of realization will naturally arise. Therefore, the posture of the body is very important at first, and becoming accustomed to this for a long time will balance the internal elements, thereby prolonging life, healing previous illnesses, and preventing them from occurring in the future. The channels and winds will become clear and strong, so that the weight above will not harm the bottom. The three channels, winds, and bindus will become one, so that even after years, there will be no discomfort. The essence of clarity will become very mature, and awareness will be self-luminous, and realization will arise effortlessly. So it is said. After adjusting the key points of the body in that way, practice the meditation of the mind. In the great Indian treatise "Nine Stages of Samadhi" composed by the Indian Pandit Bodhibhadra, it says: Here, there are two types of shamatha: that which is obtained by looking inward, and that which is focused on by looking outward. Among them, looking inward also includes focusing on the body and focusing on relying on the body. There are also three types of focusing on the body: focusing on the body itself as the form of a deity, and focusing on the impure form of bones, etc.

and on special signs such as skull-cups. Focusing on reliance on the body also has five aspects: focusing on the breath, focusing on subtle signs, focusing on bindus, focusing on the limbs of radiance, and focusing on joy and happiness. Looking outward also has two aspects: special and ordinary. Among these, the special also has two aspects: focusing on the body and focusing on speech. These are the limbs for entering into calm abiding. Furthermore, focusing the mind on impure stones and pieces of wood, as the venerable Donyoen Zhap said: "The support is stones and pieces of wood, or a lamp or a lama." Thus it is said. Counting the breath is, in the Manjushri Root Tantra, it says: "Discriminatory thoughts exhale and inhale, mindfulness relies on nearness to quiescence, because the mind is completely blazing, firmly fix it on a single object." And in the Tripitaka, it says: "Son of Sharadvati, for example, a potter or a skilled disciple of a potter, when turning a wheel, if he turns it for a long time, he truly knows that it is turning for a long time, and if he turns it for a short time, he truly knows that it is turning for a short time. Son of Sharadvati, similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva also, mindfully inhales, mindfully exhales, if he inhales for a long time, he truly knows that he is inhaling for a long time, if he exhales for a long time, he truly knows that he is exhaling for a long time, if he inhales briefly, he truly knows that he is inhaling briefly, if he exhales briefly, he truly knows that he is exhaling briefly. Son of Sharadvati, therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, relying on mindfulness and awareness, in a non-objective manner, eliminates greed and displeasure towards the world, and dwells contemplating the body in the inner body." Thus it is said. And in the Sutra it also says: "When the breath goes out, he truly knows that the breath goes out, when the breath goes in, he truly knows that the breath goes in." The meaning of this is, focusing the mindfulness without distraction on the coming and going of the breath, when the breath goes out, do not be distracted, and when it comes in, do not be distracted. Thus, the object of mindfulness is the breath and the life force, in this state, the mindfulness of…
