The twelfth Dharma session from the Great Compassionate One's Red Guidance, Mahamudra Dzogchen Union, Hearing with Meaning: Guidance on Meditating on Tranquility. The twelfth Dharma session from the Great Compassionate One's Red Guidance, Mahamudra Dzogchen Union, Hearing with Meaning: Guidance on Meditating on Tranquility. (Na) The twelfth Dharma session from the Great Compassionate One's Red Guidance, Mahamudra Dzogchen Union, Hearing with Meaning: Guidance on Meditating on Tranquility is complete. Homage to the Great Compassionate One! The profound secret instruction of the Great Compassionate One is the method for taming one's own mind. One should meditate on tranquility. As stated in the Sutra of Meeting Father and Son: In whatever place the Buddha's teachings are, they cannot be seen by other paths. If one obtains great wisdom of tranquility, then the self-born nature will surely arise. Also, as stated in the Sutra of Following the Roots of Virtue: Even if one upholds morality for eons and cultivates patience for a long time, if one does not become accustomed to the true nature, then that person is an outsider to my teachings. Also, as stated in the Sutra of Joyful Womb: Whoever does not have a meditative mind does not have pure wisdom, and defilements will not be abandoned. Therefore, you should diligently practice. Also, as stated in the Lamp on the Path: If the limbs of tranquility are deficient, even if one strives to meditate, even for thousands of years, samadhi will not be accomplished. Also, as stated in the Bodhicharyavatara: Having understood that the higher seeing, which is fully endowed with tranquility, destroys all afflictions, one should first seek tranquility, and this will also be manifestly accomplished in the absence of worldly attachments. Thus it is said. Also, the Bodhicharyavatara says: A person whose mind is distracted dwells in the fangs of afflictions. It also says: Recitation and asceticism, etc., even if practiced for a long time, if done with a distracted mind, then the wise say that they are meaningless. It also says: One who desires to protect the precepts should diligently protect the mind. If this mind is not protected, one cannot protect the precepts. It also says: By examining this one mind alone, all of them will be examined. By taming this one mind alone, all of them will be tamed. Apart from the asceticism of protecting the mind, what is the use of many ascetic practices? It also says: If the elephant of the mind is let loose,
