Great Protector! Because of being fixated on one thing and being imprisoned, I am certain that this Dharma of Samsara is meaningless. This thought repeatedly comes to mind, so I wrote this. Homage to the venerable Chökyi Wangchuk Rinpoche! Please bless me to remember death. In general, the four rivers of birth, old age, sickness, and death, Cannot be stopped by anyone. One must face the powerful force of Yama, the Lord of Death, There is no place to plead with three words. There is no place to escape with three steps. There is no place to bribe with wealth and silk. There is no date to predict when it will come. It does not distinguish between big or small, old or young. It does not distinguish between high or low, fame or obscurity. It does not distinguish between brave or cowardly, rich or poor. Medicine and treatment are of no use. Amulets and rituals are ineffective. The enemy, Yama, the Lord of Death, is very powerful. One cannot predict when he will come. Do you feel that you are about to die? When you see all the powerful people die, Power and wealth are of no use. When you see all the rich people die, Wealth and enjoyment are of no use. When you see all the brave people die, Body and strength are of no use. Now think, apart from the sacred Dharma, No method can bring benefit. Now, those lazy monks, Think about these and practice diligently! It is said that a great protector, possessing glory, power, authority, and perfection, suddenly fell ill and developed a large abscess on his foot. When he touched the abscess on his foot, even the enemies that no one could defeat were defeated. He said, "Someone more powerful than me has come here." He said, "I didn't think like this, we don't have the fortune to practice the Dharma!" After hearing these words of weariness towards permanence, a strong renunciation of remembering death repeatedly arose, so he wrote these. Ra Ga Asya wrote these on the glorious mountain peak. Homage to the Guru Vajrasattva). The embodiment of all the incomparable Buddhas, The Karmapa who knows the three times, The Tathagata, the playful Vajra. The name of the immovable King, the Lord of Power, The Great Sage King, the Supreme Five Families. From the Sutra of the Three Aggregates, The Buddhas as spoken, And Vajrasattva and others, The assembly of deities of illusion, peaceful and wrathful.

May all be mindful of me with compassion. I prostrate respectfully with bodies like dust motes. My body and all enjoyments. I offer, visualizing them as vast offerings. All the vows I have promised, Root and branch, all samayas. I confess and repent for violations, breakages, and errors. From now on, I vow to guard them. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. I rejoice in whatever merit they have accumulated. To benefit all the world. I urge you to turn the profound and vast Dharma wheel. Until all beings in samsara are exhausted. I beseech you not to pass into nirvana, but to remain. May this virtue make me and all others. Delight the protector Amitabha. This was written earlier, when I was twenty-two years old, in Tsurphu, regarding the history of the great statue of the world's ornament, the copper statue. In Pakshi, items offered by the emperor of China, which had been sent to the nagas from underground, were unearthed. The statue, eighty "doms" (Tibetan traditional unit of length) tall, was cast by an emanation artisan, but a hunched statue appeared. So, Jetsun Pakshi held his breath and straightened the statue little by little. During the consecration, Maitreya Buddha himself appeared and scattered flowers, so a topknot appeared on Maitreya's head. Because the peak of Yaki Mountain appeared to be level with the top of the statue's head, it became known as Topknot Mountain or Ushnisha Mountain. These historical stories gave rise to strong faith in me. In front of the great statue, I vowed not to kill the lice on my body, but only to turn my clothes inside out instead of throwing them into the place of death. In front of the lotus seat at the feet of Akshobhya Vajra, relics of the Tathagata, and the old silver stupa. My speech would only be beneficial to others or beneficial to the Dharma, and I would not speak of the faults of other practitioners. In front of the golden stupa of Jawang Chökyi Dorje, and in front of the image of Düsum Khyenpa, who taught the Six Dharmas for three years, hence known as the Six Dharmas Mar, and in front of the image of Pakshi, no matter how distracted I was, I would visualize the lama on my head every day, and I would not interrupt my practice of Mahamudra. I made this vow: if I break my vows, may I suffer from illness and pain in this life; if I do not break my vows, or even if I do, may it become a cause for attaining enlightenment. Although I made such a strong vow and have not forgotten it, it seems that there have been some violations at times, so I regret it and confess as before, and vow to guard the vows from now on. These were written when I was thirty-four years old, in Glorious Retreat.
