Samaja! The biographies of the Buddhas of the past are the practices of the disciples who follow. Padmasambhava, Naropa, and others are said to have practiced tantric conduct and mudras, and to have performed acts of binding, beating, and burning alive. What need is there to mention other ordinary people? Due to the fault of breaking vows, for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, one will not hear the sound of happiness, and will experience suffering in the lower realms. The Sutras highly praise discipline. For example, a foolish person mixes delicious food with poison, and eats it because of craving for the food. Similarly, pretending to practice because of craving for the qualities of this life's desires, should be regarded as foolish. Just as a child wants to lick the honey smeared on the tip of a razor, and ends up hurting his tongue. If one practices suffering such as attachment, it will become the root of great faults. Samsara is an ocean of suffering, which cannot be crossed by boats or rafts, but only by the boat of discipline. The boat of discipline is the best of boats. The burning suffering of samsara cannot be alleviated by any mansion, but only by the cool house of discipline. The mansion of discipline is the best of dwellings. For helpless beings in the bardo, no good body friend can give it, but only the friend of discipline can give a good body. The friend of discipline is the best of friends. In the eyes of the noble ones, precious ornaments are not beautiful, but only the ornament of discipline is beautiful. The ornament of discipline is the best of ornaments. Subduing enemies, protecting relatives, and other actions, mostly will not be praised by everyone, but only those with discipline will be praised by the gods. Discipline is the best of all actions. Even if one is proficient in all the excellent Dharma, if one does not have the vessel of discipline, one will not be able to accomplish the benefit of oneself and others. Possessing pure discipline, even if one only knows one word, one can benefit oneself and others. Other aggregates of Dharma, although they are teachings, are not the teacher. After my nirvana, this is your teacher. Discipline is like a real teacher. Therefore, if one can act with the body like discipline, that would be great. The view of the Kagyu school is also like this, like the confluence of the teachings of the Kagyu and Kadam schools. The tantric scriptures and the teachings of Padmasambhava are not contradictory to these. Why is it so for each ordinary person?

It is said not to act improperly. Towards the words of all victorious knowers, I have gained a bit of certainty. Now, here I sing The wealth I hold in my heart. May it benefit me and some others. Thus I spoke. The song combining the seven noble riches and the seven royal possessions, called "The Victory Drum of the Dharma Kingdom." Homage to the Guru Dharmaraja. I pray to the kind Dharma Lord Guru, Bless me and other disciples. The accumulation of merit and virtue is the basis for the arising of royal power, The wealth of faith is the precious wheel. If you turn the wheel with devotion and prayer, You will surely enjoy the glory of blessings and accomplishments. The wealth of generosity, which brings all needs and desires in all lifetimes, is the precious jewel. If you constantly give torma and water offerings, There will be no end to enjoyment in all lifetimes. Beautiful in the eyes of all gods and demigods, The wealth of morality is the precious queen. If adorned with the ornament of undiminished purity, Then you will be beautiful in all lifetimes, fortunate ones. The wealth of learning is the precious minister, Who is not confused about all the affairs of this life and the next. If you ask the words of the Buddhas, Then the wishes of this life and the next will be unerring and well-being. The wealth of conscientiousness is the precious horse, Which brings everything to a successful conclusion. If you are careful and mindful, with saddle and bridle in place, You will surely reach the place where Dharma is accomplished. The wealth of knowing shame is the great elephant, Which does not fall under the power of broken vows. A man of morality rides the elephant of shame, And surely it will deliver you from the river of samsara. The wealth of wisdom is the precious general, Who destroys the enemy forces of ignorance and self-grasping. With the weapon of your own self-awareness, Repel the battle of samsara and increase the Dharma and political power of liberation. The royal power of samsara is fleeting and ultimately declines, The royal power of Dharma is happiness in this life and joy in the next. If you have the seven noble riches, you are the richest of all, If you have the seven royal possessions, you are the king. This is the way a beggar speaks of ruling a kingdom, It is a wonderful expression that arises from experience. Thus I spoke. This song about the meaninglessness of this life is a repetition of the words of the Kagyu lamas, like a parrot speaking human language. Homage to the Guru.
