Thus he spoke. Women are oppressed by the sin of desire, like seeds roasted in saline soil, which will not produce fruit. What way is there to liberation from this? We are demonesses. Then, Maudgalyāyana's son preached the Dharma to the women: Even if you are born in hell after exhausting your merit, you still desire this household life, telling lies and being unwilling, shameless evil women. In hell, many people fight, and the thought of desire never ceases, there is never a time to be liberated from here. Repent and abandon desire! Having said this, those women regretted their past deeds and sought refuge in Maudgalyāyana's son, and those women were thus liberated. This wonderful and vast story is detailed in the Maudgalyāyana Sutra. Maudgalyāyana's son's mother, named Megamā, was born in Avīci Hell, and her son could not save her. Then, she prayed to Śākyamuni Buddha and Avalokiteśvara, and was able to be saved. After that, she was born in the realm of pretas, and after being saved, she was born as a dog, and after being saved again, she was born as a girl, and finally she was able to be born in the heavenly realm. It was so difficult to save her, not because she had committed evil deeds such as killing or poisoning fish, but because she was very wealthy. Before Maudgalyāyana's father died, she secretly gathered many villains, thieves, and sinners, and provided them with wealth, food, meat, and wine, and she often engaged in sexual intercourse. Therefore, her villagers and neighbors hated her, many people mocked her, and she quarreled and fought with everyone. Like this, indulging in desire is a great fault. Lamas, monks, and others admonished her, but she was not happy and spoke harshly. She hid people in her house, fearing that others would find out, and fought with relatives and those who came and went. This is the result of her actions, in reality, she is Megamā, born in the great hell, reborn in evil realms, and very difficult to save. Because she liked her rebirth and was always immersed in desire, this is the truth of her retribution, which is explained in detail in the Maudgalyāyana Sutra. If a widow does not seek a man, the fault is so great, then how can a nun who has taken vows be liberated if she does not give up seeking men? These are my thoughts and creations.
