Those with realization, holders of mantras with a path of practice, and fully disciplined monks, even one is of great value. Whatever wealth or possessions arose for the former Vinaya holders, they should distribute it among the monks, as the flourishing of the Sangha benefits the Dharma. This was their last will and testament. Although there are many ways to make offerings, supporting a Sangha in accordance with the Dharma benefits both the Dharma and sentient beings. Drukpa Ngawang Zangpo and Karma Tenpel Gyaltsab, and many other lamas, although they did not make offerings such as painting deities or building stupas, by supporting the Sangha with wealth, they spread the Dharma throughout the eastern part of Do Kham (present-day Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan). The founding fathers of the Kagyu lineage, such as Dagpo Kagyu and Phagdru Kagyu, also did the same, and thus the Dharma flourished. Therefore, in the Lotus Sutra, in the prophecy about supporting monks, the five hundred pure disciples and the five hundred impure disciples, etc., to all the assembled retinue, with the thought of the actual Sangha, they gave abundant service and offerings, and dedicated it to unsurpassed Bodhi, that person, immediately after death, will be born in Sukhavati, and was also prophesied to attain unsurpassed Bodhi. Later followers have a great understanding of this. The desire to gather followers for the eight worldly concerns, and establishing a Sangha for the sake of the Dharma, are similar but there is a possibility of misunderstanding, be careful not to mistake the motivation. Similarly, for horses, mules, livestock, etc., a storehouse bound by attachment is also a bait of demons, and is the cause of falling into the lower realms. There is no difference from nomads. For practice offerings, seasonal offerings, nine kinds of Torma, and for the resources for practicing retreat, and for the sake of supporting the Sangha, no matter how much there is, there is no fault. The great accomplished Karma Pakshi, when he was about to go to China, wanted to empty all the storehouses of Tsurphu Monastery (located in present-day Doilungdeqen District, Lhasa, Tibet), at that time, the self-arisen Palden Lhamo (Glorious Goddess) personally appeared, saying that you still have many things to do, do not empty any storehouses. She said to leave all the wealth behind. Later, Tsurphu Monastery built the great temple and the Five Dhyani Buddhas Avalokiteshvara, etc. Similarly, a storehouse for offering to the Three Jewels and supporting the Sangha.

And, there are two types of miserliness that oppress. The methods are similar, but the intentions differ. Regarding that, it is also said in the Vinaya texts: A novice monk and a fully ordained monk should not accept gold and silver, but for the sake of the monastery and the Sangha, even hundreds and thousands of taels of gold and silver are allowed to be kept. Similarly, even if countless offerings and disciples, etc., appear, if one accepts them thinking of one's own future and wealth, there will be great defilement of offerings. Offering to the Three Jewels and supporting the Sangha should be aimed at the benefit of the community, and for oneself, only cherish the clothes and bowl that cover the body, and nothing more than that. That is in accordance with the meaning of the Vinaya. Defilement of offerings is extremely great. Those who possess Bodhicitta, the benefit of the four means of gathering, is only to the extent that experience can be grasped. This is the first chapter of the song. A person with vitality and diligence like the ocean, the method of accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, when one is practicing oneself, one gains a little certainty of the generation and completion stages. For a person who desires the Dharma from the heart, for a person who places hope in oneself from the heart, if one does not fulfill his hope, one will become fallen by abandoning sentient beings. If it is too broad, the practice will collapse, and one's own practice will be hindered. Arrogance, self-importance, lack of faith and respect, stealing instructions, concealing the lineage. If one hears that one is being asked, one feels surprised, even if one's intelligence is sharp, one has no faith or desire. One does not see the qualities but only looks at the faults, and afterwards one proclaims slander everywhere. Some people desire the Dharma and have faith, but even if one speaks, they do not understand like a donkey. Some people make random noises and then follow, these people come to seek the Dharma without thinking. They rush to avoid being left out. Rather than gathering hundreds and thousands of such people, it is better to follow those who have faith, wisdom, and diligence, who respect oneself and listen to what is said. Even if one relies on only a few disciples who regard oneself as a guru, for the sake of the great fruit of benefiting others, in the words of the Kagyu forefathers, there is also the saying "leading sheep and leading goats." Because it is not a gathering of the masses, there is also the saying "teaching the Dharma in a cave." The custom of the Kathog Nyingma school is to call it "single guidance" and regard it as profound. There are many kinds of ways to do this, for those who are perfect in wisdom, in order to practice immediately, only give these two, empowerment and transmission. At the same time as the empowerment, forcefully introduce them. A house for the supplies for practice.
