If one stays in a new place, it brings obstacles. If one doesn't find an old place like that, then whether in one's homeland or a foreign land, when the opportunity arises, one should like the local leaders and earth deities who are fond of Dharma. In particular, one must obtain permission from the owner of that land. Otherwise, if one is a monk, there will be a great downfall. In a place where favorable conditions are complete and the land is prosperous, whether it is an old house or a newly built one, one should plant whatever soil one can find from a good sacred mountain. This is like having consecrated the land. Arrange the footprints of the illusory gurus such as father and sons. This is like having trodden on that land with one's feet, and there is no difference as stated in the lineage of the Protector (Avalokiteśvara). First, in a happy place in the house or dwelling, arrange offerings of the Buddha's image and scriptures. Like the blessing of the land with invocation, this is the blessing of the land according to the Kadampa tradition. Then, the land is a golden vajra, in the center of a cross-shaped solid wood, a great lotus tree grows, and the lotus petals cover all that area. On top of that, on top of the lunar disc is Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Shame). From that, one visualizes oneself as the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, visualizing oneself as the white four-armed Avalokiteśvara who tames beings according to the text. To the gods, spirits, and humans of that area, one meditates on loving-kindness and compassion together, so that all gather together with faith and reverence, reciting the six-syllable mantra, prostrating and circumambulating. One imagines that the gods and spirits offer the grass, trees, water, and land of this area, saying that one may use them as one pleases. If it is not like that, it will become taking what is not given. That is the blessing of the Mountain Dharma tradition. Then, if it is a newly built house, one should perform the digging of the ground, the scattering of seeds, and the mandala ritual according to the season. If it is an old house, one should arrange white offerings and tormas. One dedicates the white torma to the earth deity who originally resides there. Entrust this place to me and accomplish enlightenment. I give you a portion of my merit. Since we both practice Dharma for the benefit of both of us, do not be jealous of this, be a helpful friend. Having said this, one offers the torma towards the back of the mountain. Then, one dedicates the obstacle torma to all kinds of obstacles in general, and especially to the local spirits and the dwelling spirits. In order for me to accomplish enlightenment in this place, may you not harbor hatred and create obstacles. When I attain enlightenment one day, I will eliminate all your suffering, and I will accomplish all happiness. Having said this, one offers the obstacle torma.

Throw the torma offering outside. Then, draw patterns such as pacifying, increasing, subduing, and destroying on the vase. Clean the surface of the mirror with water that has been blessed by mantra recitation. Sprinkle water and cleanse that room from the outside. Inside, sprinkle blessed water and fumigate with incense. If ghosts have entered the empty room, or if there are shadows of corpses, etc., purify it with this. Then, purify the room with the mantra of "Oṃ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham" (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཿསརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿསྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ།,梵文天城体:ॐ स्वभाव शुद्धः सर्व धर्माः स्वभाव शुद्धोऽहम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'ham,汉语字面意思:嗡,自性清净,一切法,自性清净). From emptiness, on top of a lion throne, lotus, and moon, Visualize Vairochana arising from wisdom, White, holding the supreme mudra of enlightenment. Generate, then invite, empower, and seal. Make offerings and praises, the light dissolves into the room. This is the blessing of the place and the room. In the Hevajra Tantra, it is said that for a companion in practice, a woman with the name of a ḍākiṇī is needed. Great accomplished ones are those who have attained mastery over the winds. Like Padmasambhava, Ghantapada, and Marpa. Individual ordained people, should not be close to women. Even staying in the room for a moment is a downfall. Therefore, inside the hermitage gate, except for rainbow body ḍākiṇīs, if a human woman appears, give punishment. Saying this, command the Dharma protectors. Pile stones at the door and announce this to everyone. This is very important, extremely crucial. The General Secret Tantra extensively discusses the assistants for practice, but if the meaning is summarized: Those who have broken vows to other gurus, those who have lost vows, men and women with leprosy, those who have wrong views towards their own religious guru, mad people and sinners, abandon these assistants for practice. Have faith, pursue Dharma and qualities. Without chronic illnesses, disabilities, etc., and with little deceit. Assistants for practice who listen to what is said should be relied upon. Never rely on bad assistants for practice, the best attendant is wisdom and diligence. If you can live alone, you are the best practitioner. Then, prepare the favorable conditions for practice, do not rely on relatives, etc. Begging for alms, as allowed by the Buddha, is the sustenance for practice. Avoid attachment to receiving good alms, avoid anger even if you receive bad or no alms. With a mind that is equal to gain and loss, dedicate the merit of generosity to attaining enlightenment. It is said to wander in the village like a bee, for example, a bee does not have thoughts of attachment or hatred towards the good or bad of flowers.
