A [yogi] contemplates that the earth and all of space are filled, so that obstacles cannot find an opportunity, and also contemplates that all external environments are filled with the fire of the end of the kalpa, swords of meteoric iron, and a fence of diamond vajra. Thus and so forth. Also, in the ritual text of Sba lcag ma, which comes from the words of the Tathagata [Buddha]: From the body radiate masses of wisdom fire blazing intensely, contemplate that the external environment is also filled with wisdom fire blazing intensely, and a protective wheel with countless spokes. Again, contemplate that from the hand gestures, skull staff, and countless weapons radiate a protective wheel, its shape like the previous one. Again, contemplate that from one's own body radiate countless masses of bodies, some of the countless wrathful deities looking inward, performing the work of protection, some looking outward, performing the work of averting. Thus it is said. The way to contemplate in such detail is: The vajra ground is firmly spread throughout the uninterrupted hell. Above and on the sides are vajra fences. Behind that is a collection of five-colored flames, and behind the upper and lower vajra ground fences, is a golden wheel like a hat joined together, its countless spokes rotating to the right like razors, or two wheels joined together, the spokes striking each other, cutting off harmers between rotating left and right, or countless small eight-spoked wheels forming a ground, net, fence, and tent, all of these rotating like millstones, cutting off harmers in the gaps, any of these three methods is fine. Behind that is a tent, ground, net, and fence of swords with jeweled hilts, these swords rotating in a cross shape, the gaps in the net filled with smaller swords. Behind that is a tent of clubs marked with lotuses. Behind that is a fence of various vajras, sharp, barbed, with mouths open, a ground and tent rotating fiercely. Behind that is a ground, tent, net, and fence of pegs. Behind that are various weapons with their points facing outward, namely knives, razors, water knives, arrows, spears, axes, hammers, ropes, and so on, without gaps, becoming one, rotating fiercely. Behind that are five-colored flames, burning like the fire of the end of the kalpa, seamless like an egg, unbearable to look at, becoming a single mass.

Then, continue the Ganachakra of Hayagriva as before. Those (Hayagrivas) gather together, and in the gaps of the protective wheel, countless wrathful ones facing outwards perform the action of repelling with the sound of "Hum Phat." Meditate that those (wrathful ones) looking inwards from inside the spokes of the wheel recite "Rakhta" as a protective mantra and perform the action of guarding. Counting the two wrathful ones as one, this nine-layered protective wheel is the best method for guarding against the obstacles of the initial practitioner and for guarding against the adverse conditions of the yogi. In addition, meditate that the Sangha, retinue, wealth, livestock, patrons, etc., to be protected are all included within this protective wheel. This is the oral instruction. Before the target is determined, the protective mantra should be recited anywhere from three to one hundred times. Om is the essence of the five bodies. Here, the five hand gestures and weapons are the essence of the five wisdoms, and the essence of the five flame colors. With skillful great compassion, it symbolizes protection from the precipice of the peaceful Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. (Om, Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) Vajra is the diamond, that is, with emptiness, the ultimate truth, it symbolizes protection from all the sufferings of samsara. (Vajra, Tibetan: བཛྲ, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra, Chinese literal meaning: Diamond) The two Rakhtas are from the two of existence and peace, the two of permanence and annihilation, the two of existence and non-existence, the two of birth and death, the two of male and female demons, etc., protecting the two of self and others, as well as the two of the generation and completion stage meditation sequences, and the two of simultaneous and subsequent, etc. (Rakhta, Tibetan: རཀྟ, Sanskrit Devanagari: रक्त, Sanskrit Romanization: rakta, Chinese literal meaning: Blood) The three Hums are the body, speech, and mind of the three Vajras of body, speech, and mind, protecting the three of the preliminary, main, and concluding parts of the ritual. (Hum, Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) Fourth, inviting the field of merit: In the "Nine Deity Ritual," it says, "Again, with the light of fire, contemplate the slowness described below clearly..." And in the "Self-Arisen Lotus Master's Profound Ritual," it says, "From the seed syllable in your heart, radiate light, and contemplate inviting the guru and the main deity of the mandala from the Pure Land of Sukhavati, as described below..." If the meaning is explained in detail, in your heart, meditate on a red lotus and the sun. In order to gather the deities here, meditate on the red Deh (ཏིཿ) syllable. As Marmeza said, meditate on the lotus and the sun appearing from Pam (པཾ) and Ram (རཾ) as red. As Dombipa said, "In the heart, a lotus arises from the Pam (པཾ) syllable, and a moon arises from the Ah (ཨ) syllable, one should meditate." This is meditating on the lotus, moon, etc. If it is brief, it is sufficient to remember the Sheh (ཧི༔) previously meditated and radiate light. Shantipa and Nyingjung with the light from the heart
