Now, take this water with the middle finger of your right hand and apply it three times to your lips. Then to your eyes, ears, nostrils, lips, wrists, and in the manner of applying to the top of your head and stomach. Finally, rinse your mouth and spit it out, wiping the moisture from your mouth with the back of your clenched fists from left to right, cultivating the intention of purifying impurities. The master pours water into his left hand, holding it between his squatting knees, and recites "Om Sarva Sam Shadhani Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སརྦ་སཾ་ཤཱ་དྷ་ནི་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ सर्व सं शा ध नि स्वा हा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ sarva saṃ śā dha ni svā hā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, all, good, peaceful, svaha)" many times, and does everything previously said himself. The master, with a scattering fan including a vajra, takes fragrant water from the conch shell bowl on the left and sprinkles it on the hearts of the disciples, reciting "Om Vajra Gandhe Hum (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་གྷནྡྷེ་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र गन्धे हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra gandhe hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, vajra, fragrance, hum)". With the right hand holding the water conch filled with fragrance, slightly pour it into the left lotus seat in the manner of offering water for worship, reciting "Om Hipravara Sattara Ah Hum Pratichcha Ye Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཧིཔྲ་ཝ་ར་སཏྟ་ར་ཨཧཱུྃ་པྲ་ཏིཙྪ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ हिप्रवर सत्तार अहूँ प्रतिच्छ ये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ hipravara sattāra ahūṃ praticcha ye svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, drink victory, existence, ah, hum, accept, svaha)". Cultivate the intention of circling the burning butter lamp from the front and back of the disciples. The so-called Sarjarasa incense is made by mixing white incense and white butter, pouring it into an incense burner filled with fire. The master wraps the incense burner with a vajra rope and cultivates the intention of walking in front of the disciples. Hum Hum Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ།). Thus, purifying with incense and the five offerings is the preliminary to empowerment. Purify the disciples and empowerment substances with water from the vase and activity mantras. Generate strong devotion to the master visualized as the main deity of the mandala, and from his heart emanates immeasurable light. Striking your bodies, it purifies all the sins and obscurations accumulated from beginningless time, and the body transforms from the nature of light into emptiness. From emptiness, on top of a lotus moon disc, from the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།) syllable arises, a vajra marked with the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།) syllable. From this arises Vajrasattva, with a white body, holding a vajra in his right hand at his heart, and holding a bell with its handle in his left hand at his waist. He sits in the vajra posture, adorned with marks and signs, and decorated with silk and various precious ornaments. On his forehead is Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ།), on his throat is Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ༔), and on his heart is Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།). Giving the empowerment of each mandala.
