Āyuḥ hūṃ ni dza. Saying this, wave the arrow banner, strike and shake the target. Oh, in this way, the summoning of increasing life is accomplished. Relying on the life vase generated in front, for the purpose of empowerment, contemplate in this way. This life vase, visualize as Guru Padmasambhava's radiant body, with the hrīḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, literal Chinese meaning: shǎ) at his heart, surrounded on the right by the life mantra, from which emanate immeasurable white, yellow, red, and green rays, filling the sky. The essence of earth all becomes yellow, like gold; the essence of water all becomes white, like crystal; the essence of fire all becomes red, like ruby; the essence of wind all becomes green, like sapphire; the essence of space all becomes lapis lazuli. These are gathered into the vase and skull cup of the hand seal, transforming into deathless nectar. When the life vase is placed on the crown of the head, a stream of nectar descends from the skull cup and vase, entering through the Brahma aperture at the crown, passing through the central channel, filling the great bliss wheel at the crown, the enjoyment wheel at the throat, the dharma wheel at the heart, the emanation wheel at the navel, and the bliss-guarding wheel at the secret place. From the crown of the head down to the soles of the feet, everything is filled with deathless nectar. All obstacles such as diseases and evil spirits are expelled from the lower gate, the soles of the feet, and the pores of the skin in the form of black smoke. All the diminished life of flesh, blood, warmth, breath, and consciousness is restored. All the qualities of earth are perfected, making the body hard and stable, like a diamond. The qualities of water are perfected, making the body smooth and warm, like butter warmed by the sun. The qualities of fire are perfected, making the body clear and radiant, like the sun without clouds. The qualities of wind are perfected, making the body vast, filled with strength and courage, like the king of garudas. The qualities of consciousness are perfected, making the mind free from pain, like a bhikshu absorbed in the four dhyanas. All life and merit increase like the waxing moon. All the strength, ability, and qualities of the body increase, generating the confidence of obtaining the deathless vajra life.
