Because it is the time to draw in the power of the black demons, all the treasure owners who have been entrusted will be fearful and agitated. Driven by karma, there is no way to prevent it. When my karmic connection meets with the treasure, the three: gods, demons, and humans, and the two: gentle and fierce, all the fierce and evil spirits of both China and Tibet will gather. They will pretend to be good, but will abandon all evil. Because many inharmonious interdependent connections gather. Thus it was said, and it happened to be very much in accordance with the prophecy. From above, the master's rebuke repeatedly fell. From outside, people seek enemies for no reason. From inside, family members hate and torment each other. Old debts accumulate, and creditors constantly urge repayment. Some inappropriate monastic and lay women harbor malice and say whatever comes to their mouths. Because of many illnesses, food and wealth vanish like a rainbow. My father, named Gonpo Tseten, because of his great faith in the Dharma, recited one hundred million six-syllable mantras. He passed away at the age of thirty-seven, just as he was about to complete it. The incarnate lama himself also sometimes for two or three days, his two legs paralyzed, unable to stand even for a moment. Without immediately seeking treatment or medicine, he would suddenly recover and run and jump. Such things happened again and again many times. Sometimes symptoms like black poison appeared, and sometimes symptoms like undigested poison appeared. He was often sick and had difficulty eating. His body became like a solid stone without any gaps, and when scraped with a knife, blood and pus would flow out. He almost contracted leprosy, which lasted for a long time, and would not get better until the completion of the Heavenly Dharma. Sometimes he would lose consciousness, like losing his life force. He would run and jump, throwing the offerings far away. Sometimes he would faint and become stiff, like being possessed by a ghost. He would not recover for a long time, and after recovering, he would forget those things. Such things also happened for a long time. Recognizing those as the demands of the treasure, without performing astrological remedies or life-force remedies, he only prayed single-mindedly to Orgyen Rinpoche, and performed mind practice, blessings, and empowerments. In that way, to others it seemed like madness. He himself saw the appearance of hosts of demons and spirits, many of whom he bound by oath, offered life-hearts, and so on, and many wonders occurred.
