The object of mundane knowledge is also the nine types of knowledge, because it is certain that it only focuses on the uncontaminated, so it excludes mundane knowledge. The object of subsequent knowledge is also as stated in the scriptures, it is not that Dharma-knowledge and subsequent knowledge are mutually objects, so it is the nine types of knowledge excluding Dharma-knowledge. The object of the knowledge of suffering and its cause, the origin of suffering, is the mundane knowledge included in the first two truths and the contaminated other-minds knowledge. The objects of the four types of knowledge, mundane knowledge, other-minds knowledge, knowledge of exhaustion, and knowledge of non-arising, are all ten types of knowledge, because they focus on everything as appropriate. Among them, the others are easy to understand, but the object of uncontaminated other-minds knowledge is the nine types of knowledge, and the object of contaminated other-minds knowledge is mundane knowledge and contaminated other-minds knowledge. The object of the single cessation knowledge is not all knowledge, because it only focuses on discriminative cessation, and discriminative cessation is not the nature of knowledge. Divide all knowable phenomena into ten types, and it should be known and combined which of these ten phenomena become the object of how many types of knowledge. What are these ten phenomena? Among conditioned phenomena, the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm, that is, the phenomena of the three realms and the uncontaminated phenomena, these are four types; and unconditioned phenomena, these are five types, and each is divided into two types. How are they divided? The first four each have two types, associated and non-associated, so there are eight types; among unconditioned phenomena, there are discriminative cessation (སོ་སོར་བརྟགས་འགོག,pratisaṃkhyā-nirodha,selective cessation), virtuous phenomena, space, and non-discriminative unindicated phenomena, so there become two types. How are they combined? The object of mundane knowledge is all ten types, the object of Dharma-knowledge is the desire realm (the two phenomena) and the two types of uncontaminated conditioned phenomena, that is, (the two parts of uncontaminated Dharma-knowledge), four types, and unconditioned virtuous phenomena, a total of five types. The object of subsequent knowledge is the two upper realms and the two types of uncontaminated conditioned phenomena (associated and non-associated), that is, six types, and unconditioned virtuous phenomena, a total of seven types. The object of the knowledge of suffering and the knowledge of origin is the six phenomena of the three realms. The object of cessation knowledge is only the single unconditioned virtuous phenomena. The object of the path knowledge is the two types of uncontaminated conditioned phenomena.

In the realm of (earth) and (other) mind-consciousness, there are three corresponding factors of desire realm, form realm, and non-contaminated; in the realm of knowing cessation and non-arising, there are nine transformations except for unconditioned and non-specified. Because the objects of those consciousnesses are those knowable things. Therefore, according to the view of the Vaibhāṣikas, space and non-analytical cessation are not included in the four truths. Commentators also say that the knowledge of cessation and non-arising is because its object is the four truths; the unconditioned and non-specified is because it is not included in the four truths. If one consciousness can know all dharmas simultaneously, is that possible? It is not, because the sutra says, "There is no ascetic or Brahmin who knows or sees everything simultaneously." However, a single conventional consciousness can, in a single moment, understand its own nature and its own aggregate, that is, the corresponding dharmas that arise simultaneously with itself, and all other dharmas that are different from them, as being without self. Because in the stage of practice by faith, the conventional consciousness arising from hearing and thinking contemplates that all dharmas are without self. In the object of the second moment, the first moment also changes, so in the object of the second moment, all dharmas change. Among them, in the desire realm, there are both hearing and thinking, and in the form realm, there is only that arising from hearing. Oneself does not act as an object, because the object and the subject are mutually pervasive, but the object and the subject are not different, and it is contradictory for oneself to act on oneself, just as a sword cannot cut itself. The corresponding factors that arise simultaneously with oneself are also not apprehended, because they have the same object as oneself, and they would also take oneself as an object. The non-corresponding factors that arise simultaneously with oneself are also not apprehended, because they are very close, like eye medicine and an eye stick. The wisdom arising from cultivating conventional consciousness does not know all dharmas simultaneously, because having prior and subsequent objects is aimed at the antidote. If it is aimed at simultaneously, one would simultaneously be free from desire from all dharmas. Therefore, the conventional consciousness arising from cultivation can separately ascertain the truths of different grounds.
