.(Whether learning or not learning) The path of application is the only one among all the immovable transformations and the transformations of the seeing path. The uninterrupted path of application of the roots and the path of liberation, if it is a noble one, is only without outflows. Because the root or path to be abandoned is also without outflows, it is impossible to abandon it with outflows (i.e., the inferior will not necessarily arise from the superior). (There is no transformation in the seeing path) Ordinary beings are transformed by outflows. The transformation of the roots also only increases and transforms in humans (as a basis), but not in other places, because those in the lower realms do not rely on the path, and because there is no decline in the upper realms, and because of the fear of decline, the roots are transformed. The gods of the desire realm who see the truth are only sharp-witted, because the beautiful realms make them happy, and because they are accustomed to the path, focusing on it, afflictions do not arise, so there is no decline. Similarly, if it is believed that there are six kinds of Arhats in all three realms, then there is also taming of the roots in the upper realms, because there are those who are subject to decline, etc., and it is impossible for an Arhat to enter into Nirvana while declining. If it is believed that there is only suspicion of decline, but in reality there is no decline, then this is the nature of mindfulness of death and protection. If there is no nature of decline, then the nature of protection and mindfulness of death cannot exist, because they are afraid of decline, and this is impossible in the upper realms, which also needs to be examined. If a non-learner tames the roots, then he must rely on the six meditation grounds and the first three formless meditations, that is, rely on the nine outflowless grounds to tame them. (That is, its fruit may be covered by the nine grounds, which is similar to the way of obtaining the fruit.) If it is a learner (if it is a stream-enterer, it is a non-fearer, if it is a once-returner), he must rely on the six meditation grounds (not relying on the formless meditation), because the roots grow from dull to sharp, it is only the ordinary and special of the stream-enterer and once-returner covered by the dull roots, abandoning the stream-enterer and once-returner covered by the sharp roots.

In order to obtain the fruit of only the non-returner, in order to completely abandon the final similarities of the non-returner, because there is no attachment to desire, therefore there is no seeing path there (and the fruit of the non-returner, etc.), because these are all formless realms, so there is no inclusion either. Furthermore, those Arhats can be divided into nine types: the Buddha and the Pratyekabuddha are two types, and the five types such as the Dharma-follower who is completely lost among the Shravakas, those who are transformed from the practice of immovability, and the two types of immovability who are initially Dharma-followers of immovability, totaling seven types. Among them, the two Buddhas are only a distinction of immovability, and they are also liberated from the division of both. The reason why these noble beings are divided into nine types is that the three types of dull, medium, and sharp faculties are each divided into three, so there are nine types. Among them, the three types of those who lose the Dharma, those who think of death, and those who follow the Dharma are the small, medium, and large of the dull faculties; the three types of those who do not move from abiding, those who have the opportunity to realize, and the immovable ones who are transformed from practice are the small, medium, and large of the medium faculties; the three types of those who are initially Dharma-followers of immovability, Pratyekabuddhas, and Buddhas are the small, medium, and large of the sharp faculties. Secondly, the seven types of individuals are summarized, that is, there are seven types of noble beings: the faith-follower, the Dharma-follower, the faith-liberated, the body-witness, the wisdom-liberated (the two Buddhas are also included here), and the both-ways-liberated. Among these seven types of individuals, the first two are born from the practice, because initially from the path of practice, etc., there are those who rely on others and those who do not rely on others (obtained by combining in meaning). The third and fourth are born from the faculties, although both have both, but because the faith-liberated has more faith and the wisdom-liberated has more wisdom, so in order, the faculties are dull (therefore established). The fifth is born from the absorption, because the cessation absorption can be realized by the body (therefore established). (From afflictions)
