There are six types of actions done by liberation, which is to be liberated from the afflictions of the three realms by the wisdom that realizes selflessness. There are seven types of actions done by both meditative absorption and liberation, which is to be liberated from both meditative absorption and the obscurations of afflictions by the power of meditative stabilization and wisdom, respectively. Thus, from the perspective of names, there are seven, but these seven are actually six, namely, the three paths of seeing, meditation, and no-more-learning, which are sequentially divided by sharp and dull faculties into faith-followers, dharma-followers, faith-liberated, and vision-attained, as well as two types of individuals: those who are liberated in time and those who are liberated out of time. (Others are not separate entities.) Among them, the faith-follower is distinguished by faculties into three types: sharp, dull, and medium. By lineage, there are five types, including those who have degenerated in lineage. By path, there are fifteen types of knowledge and acceptance. By freedom from desire, there are seventy-three types, i.e., those who have not abandoned even one of the desire realm's objects of abandonment through meditation, possessing all bonds, and from the desire realm to the realm of nothingness, there are eight grounds with nine afflictions each, and freedom from desire. By basis, there are nine types, because if the sound is unpleasant, there is no path, so it cannot serve as a basis, i.e., the people of the three continents and the six gods of the desire realm. Thus, if we differentiate from the perspective of faculties, lineage, path, freedom from desire, and basis, there are 478,825 types, and other individuals should also be differentiated accordingly. Among them, there is no distinction of lineage for those who are dharma-followers, vision-attained, and liberated in time and out of time. The two types of faith-liberated and time-liberated have five types of lineage distinctions. Furthermore, for the faith-liberated and vision-attained, from the perspective of the path, if, like the son of the teacher-king, the sixteenth moment of consciousness abiding in the result is considered as subsequent wisdom on the path, there is no distinction. Those with special fortune are considered to have nine paths based on the nine grounds. Those who realize directly with the body are included in the faith-liberated and vision-attained, so they are not counted separately. If counted, from the perspective of faculties, there are three types, and from the perspective of lineage, if it is faith-liberated, there are five types, and if it is vision-attained, there is no distinction. Path and desire

There is no distinction even in being separated from the earth. The support is the particularly fortunate one who desires from the desire realm up to the peak of existence, and the king's son is the people of the three continents and the six desire realms, that is, nine. In the form realm, there are sixteen places, and in the peak of existence, there are twenty-six. Liberation by wisdom, if it is liberation by time, then there are five lineages. If time and non-combination, then there is no distinction in lineage. Other than that, it is like following by faith. (For those who follow the Dharma, there is no distinction by lineage because they are separated from the faculties, the path, and desire. The supports are as before, with three, fifteen, seventy-three, and nine, so the followers by faith have five parts, that is, twenty-nine thousand five hundred and sixty-five. For those who follow faith, there are only sixteen moments of the path, so there is no distinction. The faculties, lineage, separation from desire, and the supports have three, five, seventy-three, and nine, so there are nine thousand eight hundred and fifty-five. For those who have attained the vision, there is no distinction between lineage and path, and they are separated from the faculties and desire. The supports have three, seventy-three, and nine, so it is five parts of the followers by faith, that is, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-one.) These distinctions are explained in detail in the commentary, but are not listed here. So, which is it, liberation from both parts or liberation by wisdom? Whoever relies on the actual basis of concentration and attains the cessation attainment (Arhat) is liberated from both parts, because wisdom is also liberated from the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of liberation by meditative absorption. The obscuration of liberation includes (laziness) and forgetting the object, sinking, excitement, effort, and the five faults of non-effort, and so on. Commentators say that the obscuration of liberation is anything that cannot generate liberation and meditation, that is, the body and mind are not serviceable. The obscuration of meditative absorption is anything that, if present, makes the mind unserviceable, so even those who are separated from the desire of the three realms cannot generate the actual basis of the first dhyana. Therefore, the near
