Do not (make detailed explanations). Without distinction, the contemplation of a skeleton is to recognize and praise all attached things, therefore it is practiced as an antidote to everything. Because a skeleton lacks the four bases of attachment such as color. Thus, the contemplation of impurity has nine aspects. Among them, the practice of impurity is because of generating faith through assumption, (a part of the form aggregate) and because of focusing on minor aspects such as color and shape, it is merely suppressing afflictions, not completely abandoning them. The yoga of practicing impurity can be understood in three ways: the beginner, the fully purified, and the yogi with complete mindfulness. For the beginner, starting from any preferred place on one's own body, such as the toe or forehead, peel off a piece of flesh, make it bone, and think about and become accustomed to this. Then gradually expand (one's own) entire body, dwelling, and eventually to the outer ocean (contemplating as a skeleton) (practice for a long time). Then (from the edge of the object) gradually contract (the mind) by thinking that one's own body is only bone (practice), this is the yoga of the beginner. Then, (maintaining the previous expansion) in order to particularly contract the mind, abandon the bones of the feet, and starting from contemplating the remaining bones of the body as bone, gradually make half of the body, and then half of the skull, also into bone and abandon it, focusing on the fact that half of the skull is bone itself, this is said to be the yoga of complete purification. When the contemplation that half of the skull is also bone is abandoned (when expanding and using as before), focusing on a place the size of a piece of bone between the two eyebrows, this is the yoga of complete mindfulness, this is the explanation of the Vaibhashikas. (Regarding the characteristics of its dharma) The nature of this contemplation of impurity is the virtue of non-attachment, and if together with retinue, it is the five aggregates or four aggregates. Earth is the special basis of the four dhyanas, plus the four preparatory concentrations, totaling nine or ten. The object is the dharma appearing in the desire realm, focusing on color and shape. Pudgalas can only be produced by people from the three continents.

Yes. It is not found elsewhere. The unpleasant sound of Uttarakuru is because of foolishness and because there is no antidote of attention. It is also not found in other beings and realms. (Also, gods do not understand the truth because of dull faculties, and sharp faculties do not meditate on this.) The aspect is the aspect of unpleasantness. The time is the past, unpleasantness focused on the past, and so on. The nature of non-arising is focused on the three times. It is defiled only because of faith and attention. (From beginningless time) those (children) who are previously familiar obtain it merely by being separated from desire (from desire) (this is because it is separated from desire and not not separated), while those noble ones who are not previously familiar obtain it through the power of effort. (Even if one obtains meditation, it must be generated through effort.) The nature of remembering inhalation and exhalation is the wisdom that knows inhalation and exhalation as they are. It is called mindfulness because the power of the cause, mindfulness, generates and enters the fruit, wisdom, so the fruit is named after the name of the cause, just like the establishment of mindfulness. (Regarding its distinguishing characteristics) the ground is the fifth, namely the three access meditations of the first three dhyanas, the special dhyana, and because it is the ground of the desire realm, this is because it is in accordance with the antidote to conceptual thought, so it is endowed with equanimity. (The three access meditations are also the ground of equanimity,) in the first three main practices there is mental pleasure and happiness, and the antidote to conceptual thought, mindfulness of breathing in and out, is not associated with pleasant and unpleasant feelings, and above the fourth [dhyana] is because it is free from the movement of wind. Some think that when one is in samadhi in the first three main practices, it is also possible to be associated with equanimity, so it is the eighth ground. Its field of activity, that is, its object, is wind. Because of previous familiarity and unfamiliarity (in order) it is obtained through separation from desire and effort, and this is also only attending to that. It is dependent on the desire realm, because there are many conceptual thoughts. That is, the intelligent ones are gods and people of the three continents, (sentient beings) others (and unpleasant sounds) etc. are fool
