When it is said that it is not obstructed, the Vaibhashika says, 'Then, in that treatise, it is said that the word 'application' only applies to the real, so there is no fault.' When the teacher says, 'Then, at that time, the path of action of the Vedas will not actually change, because the Vedas cannot kill the dead again,' the Vaibhashika says, 'If that is the case, then what is not the Veda at that time will not actually change, because it cannot kill the dead. Therefore, even if it cannot at that time, just as what is not the Veda is the actual path of action, the Veda is also the same as the actual. Therefore, if it is done to the dead, then it is said that the word 'application' applies to the real, and if it is done to death, then it is said that the word 'application' applies to the end.' Furthermore, there are also cases where the beginning of the path of action becomes the result of another, and the result becomes the reality of another, such as stealing the property of another in order to kill someone, committing adultery with his wife, and lying, etc. (The teacher believes that because the three mental actions have not been initiated, they will not become the beginning.)

(Killing with the thought that there is no afterlife.) Also, killing that is thoroughly induced by wrong views. Taking what is not given, born from desire, is taking due to craving for wealth and so on. Born from hatred, it is seizing from retinues. Born from delusion, it is seizing because kings take the scriptures as a standard and punish the unruly, and Brahmins say, 'All of this is owned by Brahma, and since Brahmins are the sons of Brahma, all of this is given to the Brahmins by Brahma, so Brahmins are base, so it is only enjoyed by the lower classes and so on.' Therefore, when Brahmins take the wealth of others, it is taking their own wealth, so there is no fault (that is, when Brahmins are in great decline, stealing is said to be dharma. Even if one is able to seize wealth openly, it will damage one's reputation. Therefore, take it without being seen.) Like stealing in this way, and like taking being deluded by wrong views. Sexual misconduct born from desire is enjoying another's wife due to attachment. Born from hatred is enjoying with resentment. Born from delusion is Parsis enjoying mothers and so on, and in the cow sacrifice, those with rituals drink water and cut grass. Going to sleep with one's mother, going to one's sister, going to those of the same lineage, like following what is said and enjoying them. Some, western Brahmins called Muchuje, say that women are like mortars, flowers, fruits, ripe food, shores, and roads, so even if they are enjoyed there is no fault, so they should be enjoyed by everyone, acting in accordance with this, and being induced by wrong views. Lying and so on, born from attachment, is speaking in order to protect oneself and friends, and for the sake of gain and respect. Born from hatred is for the sake of necessarily arising from resentment. Born from delusion: When a king is laughing, and with women, when taking a bride, when killing, when stealing and robbing wealth, lying is harmless, saying these five lies does not cause one to fall, the upright ones said to the king.

It is like following after false doctrines and saying that those (false doctrines) are true and heretical views. Jealousy, etc., which arise from ignorance, are pervasively initiated by heretical views, and are proclaimed by minds attached to evil treatises such as the Vedas of outsiders. If greed, etc., are initiated by desire, etc., how are they initiated? Because those themselves are the thoughts of initiation. If you ask this, because desire, hatred, and ignorance are produced from their results, greed, etc., are also produced from the three roots of non-virtue. As it is said in the "Garland of Jewels": "Desire, hatred, and ignorance, the actions produced by them are non-virtuous." Thus, those are pervasively initiated by the three roots of non-virtue, each according to its nature. The actual practice, preparation, and subsequent actions of the path of virtuous actions are, without difference, produced from non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance. Because those are initiated by them pervasively, and are corresponding. What arises from desire, etc., cannot be virtuous, because virtue arises from a virtuous mind. The preparation, actual practice, and subsequent actions of the path of virtuous actions are, in order, the abandonment of the preparation, actual practice, and subsequent actions of the path of non-virtuous actions. For example, when making a novice monk obtain full ordination, the preparation for the vows is from entering the place, prostrating to the preceptor and the Sangha, and requesting the abbot, etc., until reciting the Karma text twice. The practice of the final moment of reciting the third Karma text, and the non-practice of that moment, is the actual path of action. After that, designating the place, and identifying its basis, and as long as the non-practice follows, as long as the vows are not abandoned, that is the subsequent action. If it is said that when initiating those non-virtuous paths of action, they are initiated by desire, etc., each according to its nature, and what makes those complete and ultimate is done by desire, etc., each separately, then, what is completed by what? Killing, harming, and harsh words (the first) is completely abandoning sentient beings, (the other two) are rough
