It is the immediately preceding condition of the mind. Because the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind is not the nature of the immediately preceding condition of the mind, the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind is not the immediately preceding condition, because the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind is only the mind and mental factors, and the two samadhis of non-mind. The non-conceptual state is not produced by the mind's manifest aggregation, but arises from the power of karma, therefore it does not appear in the scriptures as the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind, so says the son of the king. The third category is the first moment of the two samadhis of non-mind, and in the state of having mind, the mind and mental factors that arise immediately after the previous mind without being interrupted by other moments. These are, in order, the result produced by the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind, and because they are co-emergent concomitants that arise immediately after the previous mind without being interrupted by other moments, they are both the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind and the immediately preceding condition of the mind. The fourth category is the second moment of the two samadhis of non-mind, such as the characteristics of arising, etc., and obtaining, etc., and the characteristics of arising of the mind arising from the two samadhis, etc., and obtaining, etc. These are not mind and mental factors, nor are they the two samadhis, therefore they are not the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind, and because they are interrupted by the first moment of samadhi, etc., they are also not the immediately preceding condition of the mind. The second group of four categories is, which dharmas are the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind, are those dharmas also the immediately preceding condition of the two samadhis? There are also four categories for this, the first category is the first moment of the two samadhis, and in the state of having mind, the mind and mental factors that arise immediately after the previous mind without being interrupted by other moments. These appear in order as three entering into the two samadhis, and four as the mind and mental factors, etc., because they are the two samadhis, they are the result produced by the co-emergent immediately preceding condition of the mind, and after the previous mind, the moment

Since it is similar that arises immediately without being interrupted by others, and since the similarity of mind is produced by the immediately preceding cause, the similarity of mind is indeed one that possesses immediacy. However, the two meditative absorptions do not possess immediacy, because the first moment of the two meditative absorptions does not have a previous moment of meditative absorption preceding it, and also in those states that possess mind, the two meditative absorptions do not precede without being interrupted by other moments. The second category includes the characteristics such as arising and attainment of the second moment of the two meditative absorptions, and the characteristics such as arising and attainment of the mind arising from the two meditative absorptions. These are indeed those that possess the immediacy of the two meditative absorptions because they arise immediately after the two meditative absorptions without being interrupted by other moments. However, since they are not the two meditative absorptions, mind, and mental factors, they are not those that possess the immediacy of the similarity of mind. The third category includes the mind arising from the two meditative absorptions without mind, and the second moment of the two meditative absorptions, and so forth. These, although interrupted by the moments of meditative absorption, are not interrupted by mind and other minds, and since they arise immediately after the two meditative absorptions without being interrupted by other moments, they are, in order, both those that possess the immediacy of the similarity of mind and those that possess the immediacy of the two meditative absorptions. The fourth category includes the characteristics such as arising and attainment of the first moment of the two meditative absorptions, and the characteristics such as arising and attainment of the minds and mental factors of the state that possesses mind. Since these are not the two meditative absorptions, mind, and mental factors, they are not those that possess the immediacy of the similarity of mind. Moreover, since there is no moment of the two meditative absorptions preceding them without being interrupted by other moments, they are also not those that possess the immediacy of the two meditative absorptions. Thus, although there are two sets of four categories, the third and fourth categories of the first set of four categories are the first and second categories of the second set of four categories. The first category of the first set of four categories and
