(mixed with ghee). These Yang branches and offerings should be placed on the offering cushion to the right of the teacher. The stipulation regarding fire is: for all activities, the fire should be taken from the temple; for individual activities, the fire should be taken from the Brahmin's house and lit with sandalwood and other firewood. The stipulation regarding pegs is: for pacification, use a banyan tree peg; for increase, use a Bodhi tree peg; for all activities, use a fig tree peg. Furthermore, the vajra, bell, spoon, pouring spoon, auspicious water vessel, Kusha grass for Sang offering, and all other necessary items should be fully assembled. The Actual Ritual Secondly, the actual ritual is: First, according to the ritual described in the Sadhana, perform the preparations such as sweeping, burning away obstacles, visualizing the protective wheel, and fully practice the deity yoga. Then, perform mantra recitation, offerings, and praises. In particular, for the individual activities of fire offering, if it is related to the front-generation mandala, then the mandala should be consecrated, and then immediately after the offerings and praises. Then, the Vajra Master or Karma Vajra, should adorn themselves with all ornaments, wear green clothes for all activities, and wear white clothes for individual activities such as pacification and increase. They should sit on the previously prepared fire offering cushion, together with a very trustworthy assistant, and visualize themselves as the Lord of Wrathful Deities. Then, in the ten directions of the fire pit, emanate ten wrathful deities and their retinues, perform protection, and then visualize the Vajra pegs as sharp and blazing, as the King of Wrathful Deities. They should be nailed into the ten directions of the fire pit upon the evil ones with mantras, and struck with the striking mantra and Vajra mudra. If it is an increasing activity, then the Vajra dance should precede it. Again, the pegs in the ten directions should be visualized as the King of Wrathful Deities and their retinues, and protected with the words of the mantra. Then, one should abide on the previously prepared fire offering cushion in a posture appropriate to the activity: for pacification, place the right foot supine on the left knee, in a lotus posture; for increase, in the Vajra posture. There, one should visualize oneself as the Bhagavan Kalachakra Hero. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
