For example, statements like 'The five skandhas are the five Buddhas' do not refer to these afflicted skandhas, but to other skandhas separate from these. This is the nature of mind, the five types of radiant Vajra Yoga. It also possesses the complete, undefiled skandhas and realms. In short, the method to manifest the Sugata-garbha (Tathāgatagarbha), the radiant Dharmakāya (chos kyi sku, body of dharma), as the essence of the evil self-continuum of sentient beings, is through practicing absorption and other techniques. This separates the mind associated with afflictions, manifesting another mind that possesses all perfections, and attaining the four ultimate kāyas (sku bzhi, four bodies). Regarding transformation of the basis (gnas gyur, āśraya-parāvṛtti), there are two types: transformation of the essence and transformation of separation. When sentient beings attain Buddhahood, the afflicted skandhas and realms cease, and separating from them, the radiant nature of mind, possessing all qualities, manifests. This is the attainment of Buddhahood, the transformation of separation. Regarding the practice of the two stages, cultivating emptiness that possesses all perfections with the non-conceptual samādhi (ting nge 'dzin, samadhi) of the Completion Stage is the maṇḍala (dkyil 'khor, mandala) and deity of ultimate truth. At this time, seeing the images of emptiness, such as smoke, is also seeing the face of the deity of ultimate truth, such as smoke. Cultivating the maṇḍala and deity with the Generation Stage is meditation if one contemplates the form, color, and hand gestures of the maṇḍala and deity of ultimate truth with conceptual thought. Moreover, the Generation Stage is the basis for the Completion Stage and the means for accumulating merit; therefore, one should cultivate the union of the Generation and Completion Stages. Primarily, the Completion Stage is cultivated to accumulate wisdom, thereby accomplishing Mahāmudrā (phyag rgya chen po, great seal). The meaning of Mahāmudrā is: just as when a seal is placed on a royal decree, it is respectfully called 'sealed with the royal seal,' likewise, unchanging great bliss and emptiness that possesses all perfections mutually seal each other, hence it is called 'mudrā' (phyag rgya, seal). There is no ultimate beyond this, hence it is called 'mahā' (chen po, great). When a beginner sees the image of emptiness, it is seen with the physical eye through the power of meditation, and then gradually with the divine eye, etc. Ultimately, upon completion, one gradually traverses the bhūmis (sa, ground), and by stopping the winds of the twelve junctures, one becomes the master of the twelfth bhūmi. As it is said, 'One wisdom eye, without impurity,' and 'Holding the five eyes, without attachment,' one sees after obtaining the eye of wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just as the Form Body (gzugs sku, Form Body) is adorned with marks and signs such as the wheel-marked hands and feet, the Essence Body (chos sku, Dharma Body) is adorned with the marks and signs of stainless Suchness (de bzhin nyid, Suchness). Therefore, marks and signs are also divided into the marks and signs of the Dharma Body and the Form Body. Wisdom (ye shes, Wisdom) also has two types: conventional wisdom, also called the fourth state, is the bliss of the white bodhicitta (byang sems dkar po, white bodhicitta) transferring. As the scripture says, 'After transferring, one is free from attachment.' This is because it is called freedom from attachment due to being separated from the white element (khams dkar po, white element), but it is not truly free from attachment. Ultimate wisdom is the great bliss of the unchanging, supreme bodhicitta that does not transfer. The wisdom of the third empowerment is action mudra (las kyi phyag rgya, action mudra), and the bliss of emission ('dzag pa'i bde ba, leaking bliss) is wisdom, so it is conventional wisdom. The great wisdom of the fourth empowerment is the great mudra (phyag rgya chen mo, great mudra), and the unchanging, supreme bliss of the non-transferring element is wisdom, so it is ultimate great wisdom, which is the meaning of wisdom. The four states are: waking, dreaming, deep sleep, and the fourth state. These four states correspond to the three poisons of dust, darkness, and vigor, respectively. This is what Dharma Lord (chos rje, Dharma Lord, i.e., Tsongkhapa) said in his own 'Short Introduction'. Thus, if a good experience of the retraction mudra (sor sdud, finger mudra) meditation arises and is well applied, but if one meditates at first and then does not meditate at times, it is like using a plow to plow a field, it will not be effective. Therefore, one must first meditate on the retraction mudra and so on, like learning a new instruction, and after clearly seeing the image of emptiness, one must meditate on the instructions for the prana practice. The focus of Vajra recitation (rdo rje'i bzlas pa, Vajra recitation) is: the body must maintain the vajra posture (rdo rje'i dkyil krung, vajra posture), or maintain the natural lotus posture. The hands do not need to be placed on the thighs like the retraction mudra, but can adopt the meditation mudra (mnyam bzhag, equanimity) or place the palms on the knees, whichever is comfortable. The gaze should not be upward with wide eyes, but should adopt the 'nectar-swirling gaze', looking slightly above the horizontal line (between the eyebrows). The speech point is to exhale (from the nostrils). The mind point is to visualize the breath as white when it flows from the left nostril, red when it flows from the right nostril, and green when it flows simultaneously. Do not artificially control the left and right, but focus on the naturally flowing breath, thinking that the breath is exhaling, inhaling, and abiding, and then visualize the clear light in the sky. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
