Meditate on Ārya Avalokiteśvara with a white body and reddish hue, having a thousand heads and two thousand hands. Visualize each of the thousand right hands holding a wheel (cakra), and each of the thousand left hands holding a jewel vase (ratna za ma tog). I prostrate to Buddha Śākyamuni! I prostrate to the Thousand Buddhas! I prostrate to Ārya Avalokiteśvara! Ānanda, for example: in the east, there is a lightning called Delightful (yid 'ong); in the south, there is a lightning called Hundred Sounds (skad brgya pa); in the west, there is a lightning called Equal Light ('od mnyam pa); in the north, there is a lightning called Constant Lord (rgyun gyi bdag po). Ānanda, whoever knows and remembers the names of these four great lightnings will not be struck by lightning. Oṃ tadyathā nīmi nīmi nīmiṃ dharāya svāhā. Trailokya lokāni śubala bhani rakṣa rakṣa kuru ye svāhā. Reciting this twenty-one times will prevent lightning strikes. This is spoken by Avalokiteśvara, from the tradition of Jowo Je, and comes from the Golden Light Sutra of the Great Compassionate Lotus Net Tantra. The second method is: Visualize within an inverted triangle, the eight classes of beings (sde brgyad) and eight snakes (sbrul brgyad) intertwined, upon which is placed a supine lightning deity, and upon that, a thousand-spoked iron wheel, with the Great Mother (gyal ba yum chen mo) at the center of the wheel. On each spoke is a Vajrapani. Above that, a golden umbrella covering the extent of the sky. At the top of that is the Bhagavan, everything inside and out is Śākyamuni Buddha, abiding in the manner of an impassable barrier with a hundred thousand methods. Visualize the golden umbrella and wheel rotating to the right, with the handle piercing the center of the lightning deity below. Recite: Muni. Vajra gharuṭa haṃ pa ca le ca le hūṃ phaṭ. This is the tradition of Panchen Shakya Shri. The third method is: From oneself abiding in the state of a yidam, draw a five-pointed dharma origin in the sky with your finger, and visualize it rotating and driving away the lightning deity. Recite: Oṃ vajra jñāna gharuṭa nāga ca muni ti samāya ā ā ā. Recite twenty-one times for protection. This is the tradition of Jetsun Galo. This is the oral instruction for protecting life during a thunderstorm. The second part is about indicating the location of the skull: The mountain peak is shaped like a jewel, facing east. White rocks, adorned with beautiful trees, are in that direction. The ocean, springs, ponds, and vines, as well as lotuses, and various herbs adorn it. Mist covers the northwest direction. Clear springs with many sources, etc. A lake where seagulls and swans gather is fierce. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh! It is very important to place it in a good place. Then, give blessings, install the axle of the water wheel, and make it a treasure. Transform the eight blades into eight cloud goddesses. Carve sandalwood into a round container, dig a square hole slightly inclined four fingers from the root, making the root blades alternately long and short by about two and a half fingers. Drill holes in the center of all the blades, and wrap the axle with yak hair thread. In fierce times, point the fox mouth to the right, and in peaceful times to the left. Surround the axle with the eight planets. In the center of the male wheel, write the name 'ra hu la' (Rāhu) on rhododendron wood with vermilion, stacked in solemn script. In the center of the fire wheel, write the name 'nā ga phu' (Nāga Protector) on dragon wood with vermilion, place it above the mantra wheel, below the middle wheel, combine the top and bottom, clamp the male and female wheels together and tie them tightly. The items should be placed where they cannot be seen by the sky. It is very important that the rain items are not contaminated by moisture. Place it in a bamboo tube or stone box, surrounded by frogs, snakes, lizards, and fish made of ghee or dough. Surround it with branches. From time to time, sprinkle water mixed with dragon medicine, perform peaceful rituals, pray intensely, continuously recite mantras, do not interrupt, and pray before placing it: May the nāgas bring rain in due season, may the crops be abundant, may the king act according to the Dharma, and may the world prosper. So be it. From time to time, recite the 'Cloud and Rain Sutra,' the 'Vajra Tongue Sutra,' the 'Vajra Teeth Sutra,' the 'Vajra Mouth Sutra,' and the names of the Buddhas and Dragon Kings, such as the name of the Tathāgata Dragon King Free, as well as the King of Awareness Dragon Lamp, the Great Diligence King, the Jeweled Crown, etc., and recite special dhāraṇī mantras, and intensely pray for rain. In the 'Universal' composed by Dharma King Rinpoche, no name is omitted, and the names and Dharma should be proclaimed. For the dragons that cause hail, do not harm them, but follow this instruction with compassion. If it still does not rain, use fierce methods once or twice, but be cautious. If you do this, disasters such as lightning strikes, hail, leprosy, etc., may occur, or the dragons may be harmed, causing things to fail. It is very important not to have vows and precepts, not to have received permission, not to learn like the Seeing and Practice Lineage, and not to use it casually. ༄། །Je -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ས་བྱ་བ།
