Explanation of the manner of arising: Entering from the crown of the head has a graded classification, and entering from the womb is explained in the commentary on the Abhidharmakosha. Second, explaining the uncommon way of entering the stages, there are two parts: a general explanation and a detailed explanation. The first is: In the Clear Lamp of the Five Stages, it says, "From the karma and afflictions arising from clinging to 'I' and 'mine,' bound like a silkworm, at the end of experiencing the fruits of the two previously accumulated karmas, by entering the order of the clear light of true death, abandoning the old aggregates, from the dharmadhatu, the similar cause of the clear light of death, that is, the result, taking the intermediate state body of mere wind and mind, driven by either of the two karmas, connecting again and again in the five realms like the turning of a waterwheel, and experiencing the suffering of samsara." It is said that due to the worldly view of clinging to 'I' and 'mine,' karma is accumulated, and due to that, one wanders in samsara. Also, in the Explanatory Tantra Vajra Garland, it says: "Just as an object burned by fire disappears, it dissolves and vanishes without a cause. Again, when the wind of life arises, the winds of karma are various. It is together with consciousness, and again abides in the three realms. From that, karma arises, and from that, birth arises. From that, habits such as attachment arise. From that, again, death and birth occur. Thus, it is like turning a wheel." For example, when wood is burned by fire, the substance of the wood disappears. Similarly, at the time of death, the winds gradually dissolve and one dies. Then, from the clear light of death, the wind of karma arises, and together with consciousness, they abide in the three realms and take rebirth. From the wind of karma, conceptual thoughts such as attachment also arise. By accumulating these two karmas, one experiences death and birth again, like a wheel turning. The second part is divided into two parts: explaining how the subtle elements, wind, and consciousness mix, and how worldly people engage in samsaric activities, and how yogis engage in liberating activities. The first part is: All the stages of birth and death of worldly people are done by the wind. The way of this is, for example, at the time of death of a womb-born being, earth dissolves into water, water into fire, fire into wind, wind into appearance, appearance into increase, increase into near attainment.

Ah! The near attainment dissolves into clear light, and the mind becomes increasingly subtle, which occurs because the movement of wind becomes increasingly subtle. As stated in the Explanatory Tantra, the Vajra Garland. Arya Deva said: The earth element dissolves into water. Water dissolves into fire. Fire also dissolves into the subtle element. Wind completely dissolves into consciousness. Consciousness dissolves into what arises from consciousness. Mental events arise from ignorance. It also goes to clear light. This is the cessation of the three realms. Similarly, Je Tsongkhapa in the Illuminating Lamp of the Five Stages also said: When the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind dissolve into each other, the movement of wind becomes smaller and smaller. Like the method of the movement of wind, the first appearance of consciousness dissolves into the first appearance, and the thoughts of self-nature cease, so the first emptiness appears. Then, the second, third, and fourth emptinesses appear as clear light. As it is said. The commentary on the tantra also explains the order of appearance of the arising sequence. It says: How does it proceed? Where does the first consciousness enter or go? It dissolves into the second appearance called increasing appearance, and the increasing appearance enters into the third great emptiness. The near attainment also goes to clear light and dissolves. As it is said. When earth and other elements dissolve in sequence, two internal and external signs appear. When the body's element dissolves, the external sign is that the body's energy declines and dries up, and the internal sign is that an appearance like a mirage arises. After that, when the water element dissolves, the external sign is that the mouth and nose become dry and stiff, and the internal sign is that an appearance like smoke arises. After that, the fire element dissolves, the external sign is that heat is absorbed, and the internal sign is that an appearance like a firefly arises. After that, when the coarse wind element begins to dissolve into consciousness, the external sign is that breathing becomes rapid, and the internal sign is that an appearance like a burning butter lamp arises. After that, when the winds that ride on the eighty aspects of self-nature dissolve into the central channel, the external sign is that the flow of breath from the mouth and nose stops, so it is called the cessation of external breath. At that time, the eyes do not see forms, the ears do not hear sounds, the nose does not smell odors, the tongue does not taste flavors, the body does not feel tactile sensations, and in the mind appears the clear autumn sky.
