It is also due to the power of afflictions. That is, due to non-virtuous actions and afflictions, one wanders in the lower realms, and due to virtuous actions and afflictions, one wanders in the higher realms. The way of this is also through the twelve links of dependent origination, because the twelve links related to non-virtuous actions cause one to wander in the lower realms, and the twelve links related to virtuous actions cause one to wander in the higher realms. Driven by ignorance, a mere "I" is imputed in dependence on the aggregates, and imprints of black and white actions are left on consciousness. These actions are nourished by craving and grasping. Existence (bhava) becomes powerful and potent, and from name and form to aging and death, one wanders in a changing manner. If we consider one cycle of dependent origination, the order from ignorance to aging and death is as previously explained, but in general, the order is not necessarily fixed, because from the three afflictions arise two actions, and from these two arise seven sufferings, and from the seven also arise three afflictions, and from these three afflictions arise two actions, in this way one wanders. As the protector Nagarjuna said: From the three, two arise, from the two, seven arise, and from the seven, three arise; this wheel of existence revolves again and again. Therefore, the second part has five points: the causes of death, the state of mind at death, the way heat is withdrawn, the way the intermediate state is formed, and the way of taking rebirth. The first point is: there are many causes of death, such as dying from the exhaustion of lifespan, dying from the exhaustion of merit even if lifespan is not exhausted, dying from unsuitable food, dying from various diseases and various demonic influences, dying from the king's punishment, dying from wild animals, dying from enemy attacks, and dying from weapons, etc., just as there are many causes of death not explained in detail in the scriptures. Moreover, this is only in the case of beings in the desire realm, and it is not certain for others, because gods in the form and formless realms only die from the exhaustion of lifespan and merit, and do not die from causes such as diseases, demonic influences, or weapons. The second point is that, in general, there are three states of mind at death: dying while remembering virtuous thoughts such as faith, dying with negative thoughts such as anger, and dying without the manifestation of virtuous or non-virtuous thoughts, with a neutral mind. Virtuous

The non-virtuous mind exists only as long as the gross consciousness is active. When the subtle consciousness is active, at the time of death, these two reverse, becoming a neutral mind. Third, regarding how heat is collected: when doing non-virtuous deeds, heat is first collected from the upper part of the body; when doing virtuous deeds, heat is first collected from the lower part of the body. Although both gather into the heart, it seems necessary to carefully examine the body's temperature, especially in cases of sudden death. After the heat gathers into the heart, consciousness must eventually leave from the heart, because when consciousness enters the womb, it first enters from the side where the heart is formed. Although consciousness initially transfers from the heart, it then leaves from any of the openings such as the crown of the head, the navel, or the lower gate. As it is said: "The path of feces is the realm of hell and hungry ghosts, the path of urine is the animal realm, from the eyes humans are born. From the navel desire gods, from the ears yakshas, from the middle of the brow the form realm, from the crown of the head the formless realm." Or, "Between the eyebrows, the formless realm; the ears, the desire realm; not dwelling, the form realm; from the left nostril humans; from the right, asuras; from the mouth flesh-eating rakshasas; from the navel hungry ghosts; from the urinary tract animals; in the lower gate, hell; they are born in those places." As it is said, although consciousness exits from these doors, it is not certain that one will be born in those realms, but as it is said, it is possible to be born in those realms. The so-called transfer of consciousness is like when a king goes with his entourage, one says the king goes. This is based on the principal, it is not only consciousness that transfers, but also accompanying it are the feeling of equanimity, subtle consciousness, formations, and contact, and there is also a mere 'I' attached to them. In general, there are two types of death: gradual death and sudden death. Most people in the desire realm die by gradually dissolving the elements, while those born miraculously, such as gods and hell beings, die when their senses suddenly cease. Even people in the desire realm can die without control over the process of elemental dissolution, such as being possessed by a spirit, being wounded by a weapon, falling into a ravine, or being crushed by a collapsing mountain or rock, resulting in sudden death due to the interruption of life force. Once the life force is interrupted,
