Therefore, through the power of prolonged practice, I have a thorough understanding of the vast multitude of treatises, as well as the meaning of the Prajnaparamita, the Mother of the Buddhas, not just a superficial knowledge. This is evidenced by the fact that I have completed some treatises that clearly explain the profound meaning of the Prajnaparamita, and these treatises have become widely circulated. I know that this is entirely due to your kindness. I have always desired to live in seclusion to pursue the benefit of this life and the next, but because I was appointed as the first abbot of two monasteries, I have been busy with activities such as teaching and debating, and for the benefit of myself and others, I have also participated in other religious activities, running around in all directions, leaving me no time for seclusion. Nevertheless, I have strived to learn many secular cultural subjects, studied extensively the numerous scriptures of Sutra and Tantra, and engaged in a great deal of teaching and writing activities. Fearing the horrors of falling into the lower realms, I have always exerted myself to the utmost to confess sins and purify obscurations for myself and others. Despite this, because I have accumulated countless sins from beginningless time, I am still uncertain whether I have purified all my sins, and therefore I dare not be confident that I will not fall into the lower realms. I have deeply realized that the nature of samsara is suffering, without any real essence, and therefore I strive to cultivate renunciation and constantly practice it. Although I strive to cultivate renunciation, due to attachment to things that I think are necessary for this life, my desire for liberation is like the rabbit mark on the moon, only a slight embellishment. Not only in words but also in actions, I constantly practice loving-kindness, compassion, altruism, and bodhicitta, and I strongly pray that all beings may obtain benefit. Despite this, I still involuntarily give wealth to my own relatives and friends, but I am unable to treat others the same way. This favoritism slightly impairs my altruistic intention. According to the teachings of Nagarjuna, through hearing, thinking, and repeatedly analyzing the ultimate truth of selflessness with reason, I have developed a deep understanding of the profound meaning. Although I strive to practice, because I have not attained a stable state corresponding to the union of calm abiding and insight, I am still controlled by dullness and agitation, and my realization is as unattainable as a lotus in the sky. The six perfections, the three trainings, the four means of gathering, and other practices
